Cas POV
He was supposed to be here a half hour ago.
I sat there. By myself. Twiddling my thumbs and buying coffee after coffee so they wouldn't throw me out. The cashiers eyes started to stare at me with pity and so did lots of other people in the coffee shop. Can't believe he did this to me, I thought he was nice.
After sitting there for another hour I'd admitted I had been stood up and decided to leave - leave behind my embarrassment and the stares of pity. Just as I threw a bill on the counter and dragged myself off the stool; leaving my dignity there, a taller boy with dirty blonde hair brushed his hand on my arm and sat in the stool beside me. "Sorry I'm late! Traffic was crazy!," He leans toward me and stares at me with his intense green eyes. "Just role with it sweetheart" He winked and grinned at me before waving the waiter over and ordering for me.
I took the stool next to him and could barely stifle my smile. "I don't need you to save me" There was no way he could take that seriously, I was smiling too much.
"Wasn't optional; I'm gonna buy you a drink and find out what your favorite color is whether you want to or not. Because whoever stood you up is a fucking idiot and unworthy of you anyway - so I am taking you on a date" He smiled and bit his lip as I caught him looking me up and down.
"Well, I can't let you ask me something first so what's your name?"
"Dean, yours?" Dean. That suited him. It tied his leather jacket, messy hair, flannel, and green eyes all together into a perfect bundle.
"Castiel" I said.
"Castiel" He licked his bottom lip as my name rolled off his tongue so smoothly I fought the urge to make him say it again.
"Now," He paused as our food was placed in front of us but we paid no attention to it; our stools were already turned towards the other - face to face. "What's your favorite color?" He asked and I beamed at him, resting my chin on my hand as I stared at him adoringly.
"Green" I hummed and his cheeks burned red.
"Really? Well I've always liked blue myself" He smiled back at me
"You're a catch, Dean; kind of glad I got stood up" I giggled, flirtatiously brushing my fingers on his arm that rested on the counter.
"You weren't stood up, I'm here" He joked, winking at me.
A minute passed and all we had been doing was staring at each other.
5 minutes.
"Let's get out of here" I suggested with wink.
"God yes" He said throwing a bill on the counter. It was dark out now but it was pretty obvious why we were leaving. We barely made it out the door without laughing or smiling until he pinned me to the wall outside the coffee shop and kissed me.
Long story short I woke up in his apartment and left with one sock but I got his number.
