"Watcha readin' there, Cas?" Dean asked him as he sat across from him. When Cas hadn't answered Sam walked in and sat beside Cas. "Earth to angel..?" Dean chuckled and waved a hand in front of him. Castiel seemed startled and put the book down.

"Sorry, I was reading" He stammered.

"Yeah, we know. That's why Dean asked what you were reading" Sam smirked and gestured to the book Cas had set on the table, the cover face down.

"I-It's a book about religions" Cas seemed unsure of his answer as he bowed his head nervously.

"Why would you need a book about religions when you know everything about religions?" Dean questioned, his brows narrowing in suspicion as he glanced at Sam who held the same apprehensive expression.

"I don't know" Cas sighed and looked back up, knowing that they knew he wasn't being truthful. Sam looked at Dean again before grabbing the book. Castiel's eyes widened as he scrambled to Sam to snatch the book back.

"Sam!" Cas shouted as Sam stood with Cas, holding the book high over his head.

"Jump!" Dean roared with laughter as Cas obeyed and began hopping up and down to get it. Yet even being one of the most powerful beings on earth Cas was no match for Sam's height.

Cas gave up and pouted, crossing his arms as he glared at Dean who laughed along with Sam. "You two are cruel" He grunted and as Dean wiped away his last joyous tear Sam read the book title out loud.

"Christmas for beginners and how to break free from your inner Scrooge" Sam chuckled and chucked the book at Dean who still sat in his chair.

"It's November" Sam said yet he was ignored.

"Dude, isn't  Christmas a religious thing? You should know all about this" Dean scoffed as he scanned Cas up and down who seemed to be at a loss of words. Castiel stayed silent.

"Have you never had a Christmas, Cas?" Sam asked walking closer to him.

"God banned it in heaven, he loved Christmas but him and Jesus never got along," Cas bowed his head once more with a look of embarrassment and shame. "I still don't know what a Scrooge is but the idea of getting you guys gifts and watching Dean intoxicate himself with Alg Nog and be joyous sounds nice" Cas smiled as he looked between the two boys back and forth.

"It's Egg Nog" Dean corrected him with a smile. He'd never seen Cas smile like that too often and it warmed his heart, making it impossible not to smile back. At some point during the smiling Dean got lost and he loved it when this happened because he forgot about the world for a while. He forgot about the darkness of the universe, the monsters,  the blood, the death and genocide.  These moments were orgasmic and even if they only lasted ten seconds they exchanged years of affection.

December 23rd

"One"
"No" Cas denied sternly.
"Yes" He insisted.
"No" Cas repeated.
"Fine, no tree" Crowley crossed his arms and turned his back on Castiel who held a plate of freshly baked Chocolate Chip cookies. He sighed, the annoyance thickened the air.
"Fine, one only" Cas handed Crowley a cookie who took a bite and smiled deviously.
"Two" He said
"No"
"Well, I tried. You're tree will be here in a bit" With another bite Crowley snapped his fingers and disappeared.

He returned hours later with the most beautiful tree the boys had ever laid eyes on, along with a box of decorations. "Never thought I'd say this, Crowley but thank you" Dean scoffed tossing him another cookie.

"My pleasure you shit" Crowley caught the cookie and disapeared.

The bunker was sparkling with garland,  lights, faux Christmas plants, tinsle, and of course the big and tall Christmas tree that had everything on it but the tree topper. Of which Dean placed a hand drawn picture of Cas on top.
