Dean had been gone for weeks. The mark made him need to kill and he was afraid to hurt his family so he left until he showed up at the bunker door with flowers in his blood clean hands one night. They were lavenders, Cas's favorite. "Sam! Dean is back" Cas shouted as he watched his husband jog down the stairs. His heart pounding with excitement, the urge to touch his face and hair overwhelmed him; he missed him so much he thought while he was gone he'd go crazy but now that he's back Cas feels crazier than ever.

"Hey baby" Dean smirked, tossing the flowers on the table behind Cas before pulling him into a long needed hug.

"Oh my god, Dean I missed you; I missed you so bad" Cas whispered and kissed Dean long and hard in his soft pink lips then all over his face as tears swelled up in his eyes.

"I missed you too, I love you so fucking much, darling," He pulled back from Cas and traced a finger from his eye brow down to his chin. "my precious darling" He whispered, the words soft like silk that Cas wrapped around him with a smile.

"I made you pie, I used too much baking soda I think" Cas couldn't stop staring into Dean's eyes, over the past year with Dean and the mark his eyes had dulled to a blurry moss colour but right now they shined the classic emerald hue. Everything feels normal.

"I love you," Castiel ran his fingers through Dean's thick dirty blonde hair and traced a thumb over the dust of freckles on his sun kissed cheeks. "you're back, you're Dean again" Cas's smile faded when the glow in Dean's eyes melted into moss again and felt Dean's grip on his waist grow cold.

"Sorry, angel" The moss switched to black and Sam walked into the room just as Dean twisted a blade into Castiel's stomach. "not back"

"I forgive you" Cas choked as blood spurted out of his mouth. Cas may have been dying but his grip on his husbands hand was tighter than ever.

"No!" Sam screamed as Cas's eyes flashed white, his finger tracing over the wedding band on Dean's finger before Cas's corpse was shoved to the floor.
