The Last Good Night

Lindsey found a different kind of relief doing nothing and enjoying the sceneries of each country their cruise ship visits.
Today she and Aries are on their third day of asian tour. The day after tomorrow her life is back to normal. Fourteen hours of work a day for the whole week while her fiance will go back to Turkey for his new business. And she will be alone again in her pad she is thinking about having a dog or two for a pet. They'll make a good companion for her.
She can't hire household help on a stay at home basis. Since she is keeping her relationship with her fiance a secret. The public cannot know that they're going serious. Since according to the latest survey her fans really want her and his leading man to end up together and vise versa. She has to give in to the publics' demand otherwise she'll lost everything she worked for.
" I have bought you something " Aries said he lays on the recliner by her side. " What is it? " She asked then Rose. They have just finished taking a dip from the pool.  Aries handed her a small leather pouch. Lindsey took it. She saw the diamond necklace glistened under the daylight. " Oh my God it's so wonderful " She cried " I love you " Aries exclaimed before he put the necklace on his fiance. After which they kissed sweetly. " To our beloved guests we are approaching Saigon in less then two hours. Ready your selves for an enjoyable tour around the historic city. Have a good day everyone " The lady crew announced in  lively voice.
The two of them got up quick to change into regular clothes and tour around the city. As they went down the cruise " I love you with all my heart always remember "Aries whispered to her. Lindsey was surprised but instead she just look at Aries then she gave him a light kiss.
When they went around the city. Lindsey was surprised when some locals they met stared at her. Some smiled at her she did too as a response. They happen to stop at local market then she saw gigantic billboard on the market' s entrance. Bearing her  smiling face and holding the COLA drink she endorses. She remembered too that her top rated soap was adapted by a Vietnamese Network few months ago. And she had done  few movies here in Vietnam. There fellow guests on the cruise knows nothing about mainstream shows so while they were on board  She felt so comfortable. " Ahh you're a superstar too here " Aries noticed. One local Teen age girl went near Lindsey. " Good morning Linsey! Can we get picture? " The girl asked " Sure "Lindsey replied looking at Aries. The girl took her phone and click it's camera. " Thank you " The girl said then she bowed her head.

Lindsey slumped into her BMW. Their plane has just arrived Few minutes ago. And soon her car came to fetch her. She was alone when they landed. Her fiance took his flight via Hong Kong . Their flight were of the same time but hers is shorter. " How are you kuya? " She asked her driver " I'm good ma'am. How's your trip? " Joey " It was great " She said then smiled " Did you put some wax on the Subaru? " Lindsey " Yes Ma'am. Your papa called to inquire about it. He said I have to put wax on it often " Joey " Papa As meticulous as ever " Lindsey. " How I wish he ask about me too " Lindsey thought. " Which car are you going to ride on the awards night ma'am? " Joey asked " I choose  Audi " Lindsey answered. " By the way I bought your girls toys " She continued  " Thank you ma'am " Joey replied.
His boss can be temperamental at times but she's the most generous boss Joey ever had.
When she arrived home. The sun is still up. But she felt sleepy however. She proceeded to her room. She went to the fridge for two pieces of sliced oat bread and  a glass of fresh milk. Her fitness coach prohibited her from eating pork fat and all sorts of fried food. She has to maintain that Beach perfect body as she endorses A brand of fitness products. Her body has to look as camera perfect as possible. People doesn't have any idea that more than glamor her job as a celebrity also entails hard work.
During their tour she munches on chocolates and ice cream often times her fiance has to stop her. Her saliva dropped as she remembered those sweets. Lindsey still felt hungry she returned to the fridge. She saw two ripe mangoes. She got delighted now there is something to satisfy her sweet tooth.
She finished the mango in few seconds after which she stared at the wall. There her photos hang. Those were taken each time she wins an award. The oldest was taken seventeen years ago when she was eight. She was a bit plump then his uncle Bernard was with her. And the latest was last year when she won two best actress awards from two distinguished buddies in the country. This year she's got three nominations for best actress in the country while two other nominations came from a major Asian film festival. Lindsey is on top of the world but while the whole world applauded her, to her father, Lindsey's achievement has no worth.

" Papa the lights they're like stars then the Claps they sound like drums " Lindsey said to her father " What do I care? I spent a fortune for your studies and then you gave me this grade!" Furious Lorenz yelled at his eldest. " Papa I worked hard for the movie so I didn't get a high grade " ten year old Lindsey cried " That's what I've been telling you! Why do you indulge in such insignificant things? I have better plans for you. I want you to be a an Innovator a scientist a doctor not a lowly actress. Do you understand? " Lorenz insisted. Lindsey cried. Through the years she worked hard to perfect her craft so her Papa would recognize her achievements but through the years she failed.

Her thoughts was disturbed suddenly by the ring of her phone. His plane must've landed already. It's her fiance
" Mahal I love you"Aries " Would you please stop saying it " Lindsey said then smiled " What's wrong I'm just professing. Anyways I want you to keep something very important " Aries " What is it? " Lindsey " It's about our future. Open your accounts email access will you? " Aries " Alright but for a while... " Lindsey " Ahmm I opened it " She continued " Wait for few minutes love it's coming " Aries " Few minutes passed and Aries is back on the phone. " There it is love " He told Lindsey checked on it. Her eyes brightened. Fifty million pesos was transferred to her account " Goodness what is this for? " She asked " It's for our future it's for us " Aries " But? Where did you get them? "Lindsey asked. Her fiance's family business went low during the last five years. A story that had been circulating among there circle and Aries is doing every means to save it from bankruptcy. So the fund transfer really shocked her rather than delight her. " This is too much. I mean we both know where you are right now " Lindsey " Don't involve our family business here Mahal. Ours is different matter just be greatful  okay " Aries insist " Alright I'm sorry " Lindsey "  I love you goodnight " Aries said sweetly.
