A New Leaf

" Papa a new leaf has sprang look! " excited Sky uttered Samuel pushed the hay stack beside it. They tried raising mushrooms a week ago, and they succeeded. The seeds multiplied more than the quantity he expects. More produce
means additional funds for his sons' college plan. He can share to more poor families the convent is stewarding.
" Great Sky your tending means effective " He responds to his son then Pat him on the head. " Can I buy now a new running shoes? " Sky " Ahmmm, well talk about it some other time" Samuel.

Lindsey looked at Pia intently. She is alert to her mother's every breath as if she is watching her favorite movie and she didn't want to miss a single moment. " Mama look I am a Lady now and I am a superstar. Our dream came true Mama. Wake up and be well again Mama. So you can walk me to the aisle when Aries and I get married and we can go to Paris together. Just wake up " Lindsey said in tears. Her mama is back on the Retirement home. And still unconscious. Lindsey is thinking about buying a house of her own so her mama can stay with her. The space in her penthouse is just enough for her stuffs. She thinks Aries won't oppose it. Then she thought about her fiance's fund transfer. It is more than enough for a spacious house in a modest village. " No it's not yours " She said to herself.
She kissed Pia on the forehead. Her visit lasted for more than a couple of hours. And she needs to leave. It's half an hour before 2 in the afternoon her schedule with the aesthetics clinic. Lindsey has to undergo bleaching again after three months. Her teeth too will be bleach and cleaned. The film arranger said her skin don't look even in cameras. And her team is thinking about changing her hairstyle.
For years she became known for being a trendsetter in the industry. Oftentimes she would commission  respectable names in fashion industry just to get her ahead of what's in. Her Papa often scold her for being lavish about clothes and bags. She remember one incident when she still resides with her parent. Her Papa returned three boxes of designer clothes she ordered from Nordstrom in NYC.
" This is worth a fortune! Do you know their worth is more than enough to feed three families for half a year" Furious Alfonso would say.
" Precious where are you? Your Tita Rita prepared your favorite dish " It's her Papa's message. Lindsey thought for a while. God knows it's been a long time since she have  had valenciana and her step mom were one of the few who can cook it very well. Her Papa knew she can't resist it. " I'm on my way to the skin clinic pa " Lindsey "Alright perhaps we can have it delivered at the clinic what do you think? " Alfonso asked " Sure Pa " Was her response.

For years Lindsey endured a life of obedience. When most girls her age are free of choice on how they should look Lindsey has to wait her teams' approval. Even her weight is watched closely. Standing five foot five inches her fitness coach Anton ensures that she must only weigh 140 lbs. at a maximum otherwise she won't be appealing on screen. Ah how she want to munch a gallon of ice cream and ample size of carbohydrates laden (Biko) rice cakes but she can't. She felt her tummy. It has gained a portion of fats on the side. Must've been a result of regular visits to Tokyo's Street food market with her most close buddy in Japan, Ichigo Kintaro's girlfriend. The traditional Japanese slimming tea weren't able to dissolve the excess nutrient.
Tormenting days of exercise will soon follow, she knew as Anton is  persistent in making her body as perfect on screen as possible.

Lorenzo pushed aside the pile of papers on his table. He turned toward the wall clock it reads six. His colleagues has already leave more than half an hour he was left alone since he has to  sign plenty of papers most of it were proposed budget. He dialled his eldest's number, he knew his sons are already home this time. " Hello son who brought you home? " Lorenzo inquired " He wasn't able to fetch them since their meeting lasted longer than planned " Were Alright Papa. Service from the convent saw us mother superior brought us along, then Sister Myrna shared her dinner with us while we wait for auntie Mary  to come" Jet " Oh thank you Lord, did you thank the sisters? " Lorenzo " Yes Papa " Jet replied proudly " Alright son look after your brothers. I still have to finish some stuffs here I might be very late but Papa will go home tonight. Don't fight so Auntie won't be angry okay? " Lorenzo " Yes Papa " Jet
" Promise me young man? " Lorenzo " I promise Papa Sky and I won't kick each other tonight " Jet " Thank you Kuya " Lorenzo.
Lorenzo continued signing for the next couple of hours until he fell asleep unconsciously
