" I miss you so much " Beth declares as she hugs Samuel. She didn't expect him to come this early. The clock only reads eight in the morning.  " How are you doing? " He asks " I'm better now that you're here " Beth replied then she gave him a deep passionate kiss. Her mother isn't around  because of some errands while her son is already in school. To her surprise Samuel didn't respond  he smiled to her instead.
" What's wrong? " She asks " Look I won't be long there are places I need to see today together with the Town's mayor. I'm sorry If I have to leave in a little moment "Samuel " Look there is only the two of us perhaps we hmm you know what I mean just like what we use to do " Beth suggests. " Forgive me Beth but I really have to leave " Samuel said then he drop a box of cake on the table. " I hope this will cheer you up " Samuel continued. Beth felt her heart is being crushed. 
She can't loose Samuel after so many men in her life she had only felt real love to her first boyfriend and Samuel. The rest were just for cause either for financial or influence which is the case of Christian's father. She ran loose on finances then because of her father's death while the rest of her colleagues are pursuing their Master's degree she can't afford it. Until she came to know the Town's mayor personally through a project of the national government. Full of wits, Tall and attractive she made every move to make him notice her. And she succeeded. She got her degree and her studies and experiments became successful for finances is out of question.
And voila she rise up at her works ladder faster than her colleagues. She can't afford to loose Samuel.

" Wow! These flowers are so pretty " Lindsey is in awe as stare at the blooming  multi colored flowers in front her. She carefully examines each bud. " Are they orchids?" She ask Sis. Martha she is in charge of the flowers. " Maybe. We ask Amo Sam " She replied in thick Russian accent. It's been a week since the the party at the chieftain's house and she and Samuel hasn't converse yet. It's as if both of them are avoiding of bringing up the topic. She woke up the following day Tala fetch her very early so she and Samuel didn't have a chance to talk at all. Then she realise how embarrassing it was. And since then each time Samuel comes at the convent to either discuss with sister Myrna regarding his produce or fetch his sons she would transfer to a different place or pretend to busy herself with chore.
" No they don't belong to orchids. They are most likely a member of Sampaguita but due to a cool climate in the forest and protection from predators they developed a multicolored pigment to ensure they're survival. That explains why they have bigger and crispier petals and taller and harder shrubs " Samuel States. Both of them were surprise they did not expect him to come at this time. " Thank you for the facts amo" The nun said. " Have you talk with sister Myrna? " Sis. Martha " Yes sister she directed me here because. She said you know more about botanicals " Samuel. " What is it Amo? I do know very much about flowers they are my babies " Sis. Martha smiled " Our office has a new project. We are going to encourage raising botanical plants for livelihood just like Thailand " Samuel " All right " Sis. Martha " Some Agriculture company came to me to offer they're technology you know joint effort and they have organic fertilizers and supplements for pilot testing. Would you be willing to give it a try? " Samuel " Ahmm Amo. They are my precious one I am willing but not among the big ones. I have small newly planted ones. I'll agree if the testing is on them " Sister Martha " Where are they just tell me I'll bring them here " Samuel volunteers " No Amo I can manage just help Sister Liza here. She needs to sprinkle water on each bud so they will bloom beautiful " Sis. Martha. Samuel nodded.
Lindsey continues with her task as thought she is alone. " You aren't use to using bare hands do you? " Samuel notice as he observes Liza is slow in picking Dry shrubs. She smiled shyly. " Here I'll teach you " Samuel said as he gently guides Lindsey' s delicate hand. " How do you hold your baby when you're hands are like this " Samuel kids trying to brush off animosity. " I don't have a child. My brother's has a nanny when they were very little but my stepmom is pretty hands on in caring for them. But I do cuddle them most of the time and they are affectionate to me. We never felt we have different mothers. " Lindsey " Oh my apologies. You are so fond of children I thought you have already one " Samuel " It's alright. How I wish I really have one before my fiance passed away " She confess " oh forgive me. It must've been terrible " Samuel is apologetic again " Yes. We were friends  since grade school too almost my whole life was spent with him. But I'm better now I realize he would disapprove if I mourn over him for too long " Lindsey said facing him. Samuel moved few steps back putting an arm distance between them. " Perhaps that explains why I see sadness in your eyes " He utters as he looks intently at her lovely face he hold his gaze towards her dark eyes that seem to shift into velvet. Lindsey smiles revealing her white even teeth. " Sadness can't be gone in an instant but with God's grace I know I will. This place is a big help to me. Perhaps this is one of few paradise left " Lindsey declares then looks at the blue sky. " Indeed this place is paradise " He agrees. Then he held one of Lindsey's hands. Lindsey didn't object it she accepted Samuel's palm.

Rita is putting spread on his sons' snack which is Tuna sandwich when she heard the bells rang. She look around neither one of their household help is around. Then she remembered sending three of them to the Tailoring shop to pick up their new linens. When her sons are not around she can manage the chores by herself and besides she is teaching Lean and Leonard to be less dependent. It is a delivery from a courier.
" Good morning ma'am! A package for ma'am Rita " The male delivery utters. She smiled at him. It is from her cousin Sister Myrna. She signed the receiving copy in no time then lifted the tiny box. When she opened it. She saw an envelope
" Tita Rita " it reads. It's from Lindsey.
" First I want to thank you for bringing me into this place. I don't know if I'll ever learn to live again if you haven't guided me into this Paradise.
For all the years of being a devoted wife to my Father and a loving mom to my brothers I appreciate it. I know how much you sacrifice for Papa's sake. You turned down an offer of becoming a President of a Pharmaceutical in Switzerland because you care so much for Papa and his company.

Through this years I have felt your concern for me. I could not forget the incident  when I left home because Papa was so against my late night parties he slapped me one time. Just fourteen then I left in the wee hours of the morning and the rain is so heavy. You searched for me and when you found me you hugged me. The following day when I woke up you were at my side then you offered me your chicken soup and I turned my back on you. Sorry if all this years you extend your arms to me but I refuse it.
For all the years that I have my resentment towards you without reason forgive me. I just realise how bless I am to have you for a second mother.
Here is a Tweed jacket I have made this myself with help from the sisters. I hope you like it.

Rita cried for so long how much she dreamt of this moment where Lindsey would accept her. Rita carefully opened the paper that wrapped the jacket. It is colored in soft rose her favorite shade. She felt it's quilted fabric it is very fine and it feels so soft in her hands. Her stepdaughter must've quilted it with outmost passion.
