They're Paths Meet

" You're kids are doing just fine. Don't worry " Mary assured Samuel. They are conversing via Skype. Today is his third day of educational trip here in Tokyo. Their party will stay for three more days. His eldest sister Mary is like a second mother to his boys but he can't help but worry still especially to his youngest. The most affectionate of the three. His youngest health is pretty weak unlike the two. " I know Ate. But you know it's still different if Sharon's alive " Samuel " You miss her so much don't you?" Mary " I do Ate. Till now I am still in denial that she's gone " Samuel " Just pray God will strenghten you " Mary suggested. " Thanks Ate " Samuel.
Mary smiled. His brother's children are like her own. Even her husband adores them.
Samuel opened his wallet  the two hundred dollars Were neatly arranged. They have five hundred dollars allowance each  for this educational trip. He spent more than two hundred yesterday for buying stuffs for his boys and Ate Mary and some for his friends. Today he has fifty dollars left in his pocket he'll buy some sushi at the downtown later. A simple treat for himself. He saw a nice suit yesterday at a high end shopping center but he can't afford it. It costs twice his modest monthly salary.
Later that day. Their module was over at two in the afternoon. They're party decided to visit the world famous green house garden not far from Shibuya district.
All of them were in awe as they enter the garden. It looked like an ancient garden from pre historic times. The ferns were gigantic while the flowers were deep in hue. Even the ray of light cannot penetrate the thick pigments of the plants that is inside. While the vegetables were twice as big as the common vegetables. " Is this real?" His colleague Beth commented. The female garden keeper just smiled. They toured for the next couple of hours. They scrutinize each plant that they saw. They have to make an observation paper for this tour.

" Walk to the end of the room, den look at the light on the ceiling one camera is there " Director Marumi instructed Lindsey in slow English. Lindsey did as instructed. The directors style is new to her. He doesn't want her followed by cameras at all times, instead he want some scenes to look like they are really stolen. Today is the second day they are filming the first scene of the film. They started with a grocery store yesterday near the train station and now they are inside the botanical garden. " Then stare at the light for  five seconds as if you are thinking I'll count 1,2,3,4,5 perfect lisey. Comb your hair wid fingers Kitaro will bump into you "Director uttered. A tall guy wearing jacket bumped into her. It is not her leading man. He's not Japanese either. The guy looked at her he hold his gaze towards her for a few seconds. For Lindsey time seemed still at that moment. The guy has olive skin round eyes and patrician nose. He looked like a Filipino. " Sorry he said to her ".  " But if he's a Filipino, Why didn't he recognize me" She wonders to herself. Lindsey just nodded.
" Cut Kintaro you slow" Director Marumi said later.
Six in the evening Lindsey's taping is already over. Fifty-two more scenes to go. Which means eighty days of stay or more.
Director Marumi commended her. She flew here alone. She commissioned a Tokyo based Filipino make up artist instead of bringing Ana or Jena along. Her driver was provided by the film company. Lindsey just want a time away.
And besides she wants to give Ana and Jena their much needed long vacation with pay. Aries called as soon as she reached her place which is a high end penthouse. She noticed something about her fiance. Aries seem unhappy during the last few days. She feels something is bothering him.
Japanese press started clicking their cameras as they saw Lindsey walked out of her condo bldg. It's only five but she has to leave their next shoot will be done in a city couple of hours outside Tokyo. It surprised her to be followed by press this early. Good thing she has already put on some make up.
She was all smiles for them. They bowed as a sign of gratitude.
Lindsey and her Japanese driver arrived just right in time for the shoot which is seven. The scene will take place inside a century old thatched house. Her leading man arrived few minutes later he greeted her in English. She respond too. They were about to get inside the location when a tourist bus arrived. It bears a Philippine flag on the front. The house keeper went near Director Marumi and whispered something. " Okay we'll eat first break fast some visitor needs to see the house " Director Marumi announced. Soon passenger went down. Lindsey was about to step when a tall man went down the bus. He was the same guy she bumped into yesterday and she's right he's a Filipino too. The guy was surprised too when he saw her. But to Lindsey's wonder he doesn't seem to know her stature as a celebrity unlike the lady behind him who couldn't move when she saw her. The lady looked star struck while the guy walked pass her. The lady tried to get near her but some Japanese production staff blocked the Lady's way. Lindsey just smiled at the lady.
When night came. She was surprised to see a bouquet of flowers at her doorstep. Those were from her fiance. She called him to say thank you but his phone had been turned off.
" Hey I saw Lindsey today! " Rana Samuel's colleagues uttered as they are eating dinner " Really ? Why didn't you tell us?" Noel responds " I want to, but some Japanese already cordoned her " Rana explained " Aghh I must've taken a photo of her my son will be very glad " Noel said " Lindsey who is she? " Samuel Inquired " You didn't know her?" Rana was shocked " No? From which station is she. Our televisions got only one channel and that is Filipino Premier television " Samuel " Oh my. Lindsey is from the competitor network that is Philippine united television " Noel " I see. You see our antenas cannot get its signal " Samuel " And besides Sir Sam doesn't spare time to watch entertainment shows. News is enough for him " Beth commented " Yeah right " Samuel agreed. He and Beth had been partners on two research projects and they made a good pair. Like him She is a single parent too. But unlike him who is a widower Beth has not been married to her son's father. And her son's father is already married to other woman.
Lindsey decided to take a tour around the city today. The film company lend her a female staff to accompany her. The staffs name is Hirumi. Hirumi is a jolly fellow she was an excellent guide. She never misses to tell her about the history and name of each place they visit. Some bystanders they passed by cannot help but stare at her intently. Lindsey remembered she's had two T.V appearances this week. So Japanese audience already recognize her. She smiled at them, they bowed in response. As the day end she give her driver and Hirumi fifty dollars as tip.
The following days were very hectic for Lindsey. They spent sixteen hours each for a five days of continuous shoot. While weekends was for film promotions and interview. Aries revive her thru calls. One in the morning and another in the evening as she reached  home . Her fiance would take a short break from his business trip here in Tokyo to be with her. Aries had been very busy too during the last couple of years. He travels all over Asia most of the time. He visits their country after couple of months. When she tried to Inquired about his venture her fiance would just say its about investment in stocks. But she never saw him open any stock market sites.
While her manager Rain together with Philippine United Television Philippines President would come anytime next week for the signing of contract. How she'd love to be with Aries again. She miss him so much.
" Do you miss your boyfriend? " Kintaro her leading man inquired one time during a short break from the shoot. Their shoot is close to finish and they have become friends. Kintaro's girlfriend Michiko is out going and would invite her to join them for a weekly sojourn at their private sauna resort in Kyoto. " I do but not anymore " Lindsey smiled. " Oh, well he come? " Kintaro " Yes he will visit a business partner here " Lindsey " That's good invite him to go with us to Kyoto. Grandma will prepare a traditional tea party for us " Kintaro said proudly " Wow! That would be great. Thank you so much " Lindsey " Never mind we're friends. Well he attend the premier night? " He asked " Ah no. My manager will kill me" Lindsey. Her leading man just smiled.
