Back on track

I whined and wiggled closer to my parents, tears finding their way down all our faces.

"Oh Maxxy baby we missed you!"

Mum was the one sobbing away the most, gripping me like she would never let go, but its not like I was complaining.

"Oh my baby!"

It was another full fifteen minutes before we moved from the front door.

Jake showed me up to his old room, only a bed, cupboard and bare study table remained from when he left.

It also had a inbuilt wardrobe and a bathroom, it included a toilet, sink and shower, well then, more luxury for me!

The walls were a deep red and a single wall was white. The white wall had the head of the bed resting on it with a large window beside the double bed.

I smiled, I've never had so much comfort in my life.

Jake showed me the wardrobe, showing the clothes he left behind.

"You can have these, we are the same size anyway"

We laughed lightly, I am wearing his clothes now so that's how we knew, after we'd spent 15 minutes giggling about it we had come straight here.

Jake told me that there was no school, he had enforced a new rule on the were wolves that as soon as they turned sixteen, their schooling is completed.

Looks like I wont be going to school then.

But there is a different type of school for werewolves after that.

My brother, Tylar and my mate all sat with me on the bed to discuss it.

"After the age of 16, Tylar and I decided to create a school, more like programm, for all of our kind"

I sat in Dereks lap, to his suprise, and gestured for Jake to continue.

"The course runs until you turn 17, it covers everything from learning about different types of wolfs including Draisons, to learning how to fight in hand to hand comant, weapon combat, and fighting in wolf form"

My eyes widened, that sounds cool!

"Well im 16, so I guess I participate?"

Tylar nodded, pulling my brother into his arms.

"Yeah, you attend, but only after the next full moon. Now that you are Derek's mate, as long as you've already marked eachother, at the full moon you become part of the pack"

I thought for a moment, pursing my lips slightly.

"Well full moon is in... one week"

The others nodded and I grinned, looking out my window and to the moon that shone through.

"Can't wait..."

I leaned my head back on Dereks shoulder and the other two smiled, Jake stood and pulled up the Alpha.

"Sleep well, you'll need it."

I nodded and layed down on the soft blankets, then held my hand out for my new mate to lie down along side me.

I heard Jake saying goodbye to Mum and Dad then looked at Derek, getting captured in his eyes.

"Why don't we play 20 questions"

He raised an eyebrow and i rolled my eyes.

"We dont even know eachother, we should play 20 questions so we learn stuff"

He chuckled and reached out, moving his thumb back and forth over my cheek.

Lucky the lights were off so he couldn't see me blush.

"Why don't we just say everything we can about ourselves and our history?"

I nodded and told him to go first.

"Well, my name is Derek giovark, I'm 18, I'm a normal pack member. My favorite colour is red, favorite animal is tigers, even though I'm a wolf" We both chuckled

"Uhmmm... I live by myself near the alpha and beta's houses. I participated in the war three weeks ago and lost my best friend and his mate"

I froze.

"Recent war"

He looked at me with such a sad look I nearly cried for him, I could feel his distress and pain.

"Yeah.. Jake won it for us, but nearly died, it was the first time we fought along side a Draison."

I paled considerably, I would have to ask jake about this tommorow.

Derek pulled away from me suddenly, sitting on the edge of the bed facing away from me.

I immediatly missed his warmth.

"Derek?"

"There is something else you need you know too"

I sat upright, concerned.

I could feel that he was worried and scared... something about me rejecting him?

"Before the war... I-I used to be Jakes main bully. It was wrong! I was so stupid I dont even know why I hurt him! What I did... I've hated myself so much... I didn't want to live... I don't even think I deserve you let alone any on them, they became my friends after everything..."

I wrapped my arms around his waist, resting my head on his broad back.

"I'd beat you up but it seems you've already given yourself enough pain for it"

I dont know how I can be so forgiving, but I guess thats who I am.

"Besides, It seems he's forgiven you, but you need to forgive yourself, Let your pain go"

He nodded and I placed a light kiss on his shoulder.

"My turn then! My name Is Maximus Blake, I'm 16, my favorite colour is also red, I love Cats, I was rogue and now obviously I live here. When I was just one year old my ex pack was destroyed, and in the ruins a human couple found me. I always shifted but once I turned ten it happened more often and I couldnt really control it, so I left. Since then I've been by myself.

When you found me i had just run away from wolves who attempted to kill me, not that I can blame them, I'm a Draison, any pack would generally kill me..."

Dereks eyes got softer through out the whole thing, but at the last line anger flared within his eyes.

"I hate how people just assume Draisons are all bad! Just look at Jake, he's now the Alpha with Tylar and everyone loves him"

My fingers touched his face, instantly zapping away his anger and causing him to lean into the touch.

I moved and sat in his lap, cupping his cheeks with both my hands.

"Derek it's something we are used to, don't worry"

He sighed and closed his eyes.

"This isnt something you should have to endure, its not right"
