Chapter 1: Cliché meeting
I walk the halls of River Mount High, and the crowd opens up to us like the red sea at my command, every girl looking back at me, obviously checking me out as, if not they would be sending death glares obviously pissed at my power over this school. This can’t always be that cliché movie where I have everyone loving me and there would only be that single girl who totally loathes me with my existence walking around like I owned the place and every person bowing at my feet and my attention would suddenly belong to her wondering why she totally hates me and she would end up falling for me because im just a very misunderstood and have a very hard-to-deal-with if not horrible family that caused me to be who I am now and I would also fall for her as well, because she’s the only one who really understands me and loves me for who I really am then we would be that very same cliché couple where the jock falls for the shy nerd and we would grow up and make a nerd herd of our own…yada…yada…yada…perfect.
Thinking back at what I just thought, I shivered at how much I knew about that kind of thing. This is what happens when you spend so much time with your older sister dragging you to watch all those horrible cheesy chick flick, not that I don’t love my sister, she can just be so damn scary and demanding and maybe also mean and…well…crazy sometimes and, oh, did I mention scary?
“…Dude!..Tay!!!...Taylor!” I heard my best friend snap at me while literally snapping me out of my daze.
“Oh, Jeff.” I mumbled regaining my composure and shoving the horrible thought of my sister out of the way.
“Jesus, Taylor. It’s too early in the morning to be dazed like that. What's wrong with you dude?” he put his hand on my shoulder as if to steady me like I was about to fall.
I rubbed my temples from the now throbbing vein from just thinking about my sister. “Exactly my point.”
Jeff stopped in his tracks as I reluctantly kept walking, when I looked over him, he stared at me wide eyed and the most gayest shocked face known to Jeff (and trust me he has plenty of that) with his one hand over his ‘O’ shaped mouth. I raised my eyebrows faking that I was offended. He then grinned like an idiot while I went back on my way to my locker.
He jogged over to me, settling his hand where it had been a while ago. “Who are you and what have you done with my best friend?.” He demanded making a fake gun with his hand and pointing it over—my now painfully throbbing vein—on my temple.
I glared back at him because of the extra pain he had been causing over my headache.
He laughed like it was so funny, which is absolutely not. “But seriously, Tay, what happened to you?The Taylor I know was a morning person and you are no morning person from the looks of you. Look at you! You look like shit!” He exaggerated flaring his hands up and down around my body. I rolled my eyes.
“My SISTER. That’s what happened.” I said with my voice thick in venom when I had spoken ‘sister’ to give emphasis on how seriously messed up I am because of her. But he was right, I was a morning person and I totally love it but ever since my sister came last week I hated every morning because that meant a lot of screaming and a lot of barfing—It’s very hard to have a hormonal pregnant older sister-- yes, pregnant-- in the house when she is naturally a grumpy person in the morning. While his husband is a wimp for my sister, not that I blame him, my sister plus pregnancy plus hormones divide it with her social life then multiply it with food equals a very scary sister or a very scary wife in Paul’s case.
