Selfless: Chapter 6 (Not Edited - will edit later)

"Wake up Ms. Evans. We need you to eat before you get discharged." I heard someone say.

I groaned and moved my head to the side when I felt something cold touch my lips. "Leave me alone."

"Let me do it. You need to gently wake her not force her to eat while she is sleepin'." I heard someone else say, but in a different accent.

I felt my body being shook gently side to side. I groaned even louder trying to open my eyes to stop whoever was shaking me. The shaking continued on until I opened my eyes to see my doctor and Kevin beside me. Rubbing my eyes I sat up straight and stretched. Today was the day I was able to leave after a few months of rehab for my legs and arms. I was strong enough and I could now take the world by storm. I looked back towards my doctor who whispered something into Kevin's ear before leaving. He took my try of food and pushed it towards me. I began to eat, but stopped after a moment.

"Where are the rest of the boys?" I asked. The room was clearly empty.

He smiled. "They might be sleepin'. I only came because your brother woke me up and told me to come here." He admitted.

I frowned. Why didn't he come here himself? I took a bite out of my sandwich and placed it back down on the plate. "Is there a reason he didn't come?"

"Yes, he was with a lady named Tracy. I guess it was his past lover or somethin'."

I couldn't believe him. He was on the phone when Tracy almost killed me in the school's bathroom. I took a deep breath and took a sip of water. If my brother is happy with her, then let it be. If he puts her first than me then let it be. One thing is for sure my brother comes first and if he is happy with her despite what she does to me then I just have to deal with it.

"You don't like her." I heard Kevin say.

I looked up at him. "I never said that." Was I talking out loud or something?

He grabbed my free hand and rubbed his thumb over my knuckles. "I haven't known you for long, but once I mentioned her name it looked like you were angry."

My eyes dropped to what he was doing with my hands. "Don't tell him." I whispered.

"I won't."

For the rest of the few minutes I was eating in silence. I would look over now and then to see Kevin on his phone. When I would look up sometimes he would look at me. I would be lying if I said I wasn't attracted to Kevin. He looked really handsome with his brown hair and beautiful green eyes. I am sure all the ladies go for him. Is he single? I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't single.

Kevin burst out laughing, "Yeh my love I am single."

I stood looking at my almost empty plate as my cheeks grew red. "I said that out loud, didn't I?" I asked him.

When I thought he was about to answer the door opened and I looked up to see my brother come into the room with Tracy. They were laughing, but once they saw me they stopped. Tracy gave me a smirk and I swallowed slowly. She haven't changed one bit since high school. My brother walked towards me and gave me a hug and a kiss to my forehead. He smiled at me as if he didn't know who he brought back into my life.

"Hey sunshine."

"Hi." I whispered.

He looked over to Kevin. "Kevin, come with me so I can sign the discharge paper while these ladies go over to Dr. Lopez's office so Emily can pick out the things she need in the boxes. Then he looked back to me, "You are coming on tour with us along with Tracy."
