Tonight was our last night in this paradise. Bukas, magpapaalam na kami sa lugar na ito. Although tomorrow marks a forever of uncertainties for everyone, nothing seemed to stop us from having fun. For two weeks, we enjoyed each other’s company. And for the record, this has been the happiest two weeks of my life.

After my breakup with Marco, I thought I would find myself dwelling from the pain I felt because of what he did for the longest time I could. Yet surprisingly, for the past days, I haven’t even had a single thought about him. Thanks to these amazing guys around me, most especially to this tall man beside me.

He helped me forget; helped me move on. And I was happily content in my relationship with him. Wala mang formal declaration, I feel that what we have is something strong.

I looked at him and instantly smiled. Iritable na naman 'yung expression ng mukha niya dahil hindi tumitigil si Chan sa pagsaboy ng buhangin sa inuupuan naming mat. Panay 'yung pagpag niya pero agad ding susundan ng pang-aasar ng kaibigan niya.

“I’m getting really annoyed, Chan. Tumigil ka na,” matigas na sabi niya. I heard him let out a frustrated hiss.

I continued to stare at his pissed face. Because of the huge flames from the bonfire, parang nag-sparkle 'yung mga mata niya. His eyebrows were furrowed, yet I still found him cute in spite that look in his face.

“Chan, tigil na. Nagagalit na ang cold guy,” saway ni Dominic na nakaupo sa gilid namin.

“Baka ayaw mo nang makauwing buhay bukas,” dugtong ni Hans. He threw another piece of wood sa campfire.

Natawa ako sa mga sinabi nila.

Tumayo si Chan. “Isasama naman kita sa hukay ko, 'wag kang mag-alala,” nakangisi pang sabi niya at tumabi kay Hans. Ito naman ang pinag-trip-an niya.

“Guys! Luto na ang hotdogs! Kuha na lang kayo,” sigaw ni Kuya Seth mula sa kabilang dulo ng sinet up na camp fire. Sila nila Ate Bianca 'yung nagluluto.

“Tama na muna 'yang pang-iinis niyo kay Mr. Cold Guy, kain na muna,” sabi ni Sara at sinubuan si Kai ng hotdog.

Tumayo ako. “Gusto mo? Ikuha kita?” tanong ko sa kaniya.

Tumango lang siya kaya tumalikod na ako. Inabot sa'kin ni Ate Bianca 'yung dalawang sticks ng hotdog, tapos bumalik na ako sa kinauupuan ko kanina.

“Here,” abot ko sa kaniya ng isang stick at umupo sa tabi niya.

“Thank you.”          

I took a bite and looked at him again. “Okay ka lang ba?”

He glanced at me and nodded. Inubos niya 'yung pagkain niya in one bite.

“Gusto mo pa?”

I waited for him to respond pero hindi siya nagsalita. Instead, he got up and walked towards the beach.

Napatingin ako kay Sara na nakatingin din pala sa'min. She nodded once, saying na sundan ko si Kris. I guessed she knew him too well. So, tumayo rin ako at hinabol si Kris.

“Kris, wait.” Hinawakan ko siya sa braso. “Ano'ng problema?”

He turned to me and half smiled. Tapos naglakad siya ulit.

Nag-worry ako kahit na ngumiiti siya. “Come on, tell me.” Sinabayan ko 'yung lakad niya.

Hindi pa rin siya nagsalita. He just reached for my hand and held it in his. Few seconds passed at hawak niya lang 'yung kamay ko. So, I stopped walking at tinitigan ko siya sa mata.
