The Forced Marriage

Chapter 10

Today I am meeting with Josh, and Colton gets home today. So hopefully people don't recognize me, before Colton gets home. I just hope nobody recognizes me period. That would be horrible. I look over at the time on the oven, and I realize I have an hour until i need to meet Josh. I get out of bed and pick out my outfit, its a navy and white stripped dress with white sandles. I get dressed, and do my make-up, then my hair, and i slip on my huge sunglasses so nobody will see its me. I put on my ring and walk out to the car.

I get to the restaurant with 2 minutes to spare. I walk in and I see Josh seated at a corner booth in the back. Well let's get this over with. I walk over to where he is sitting and sit down. "Hello Josh, let's get this over with so I can get back home before people start to notice me."

"Valerie, I-I don't know how to say this, but--"

"Hi! What can I get you today?" The waiter comes up to us and asks. 

"Uhm I'll have a chicken salad light ranch and a water please." I say.

"HOLY SHI- You're Valerie Johnson! Oh my gosh! Your husband is a god." The waiter basically yells out. She needs to keep her mouth shut. And I look over at Josh and he is just sitting there smirking at me. I roll my eyes at him

"Please be quiet I really didn't want anyone to notice me!"

"Aren't you supposed to be on your honeymoon until tonight?"

"We got back a day early. It's really none of your business correct?"

"Actually it is. Who is this guy with you?"

"None of your business! Josh I have to go. I will call you sometime and we can finish this conversation okay?" I say as I get up and then run out of the restaurant. I should have never came. What if there was paparazzi in there? Oh gosh, I'm going to be dead. I get into my car and drive home. When I get back there is an unknown car in the drive. Who the fuck could that be. Great my day just keeps getting better and better.

I walk into the house and see Colton sitting on the couch. Shit he wasn't supposed to get back until tonight! No no noo!

"Valerie, I thought I told you to go NOWHERE! Do you know how stupid that was of you to leave the house? Today of all days? When we got back we were supposed to go out and do "couple" things" He says using the air quotations.

"I'm sorry okay? Josh wanted to meet with me and we already set this date up like 2 months ago! And just because we are married doesn't mean you can own me! I barely even know you! I can barely stand to be in the same room with you! I wanted to get married to some guy I actually liked. Did you even know its my birthday tomorrow? No I bet not. I wish my parents would have picked a nicer guy!" I yell at him and then I run up the stairs to my room. 

"Valerie! Wait!" I turn around and flip him off. 

"If you're just going to yell at me some more I don't want to hear it!" I enter my room and slam my door shut. I take out my phone and I have two new messages one from Josh and one from Kate. Oh lets see what Kate wants.

*Hey Sughar. What do you wanna do for your birthday 2moro? Think your hunk of a husband will let me steal you for the night?*

*Hey baybee. Yep. Colton says it is fine. Pick you up at 7?*

Well now I should probably read Josh's.

*Hey Val. I'm sorry about today. Next time we meet up we can go somewhere private?*

I decide to just not reply to that. I lay down on my bed and just daydream.

I hear a knock on the door. "Valerie can I come in?"

"Yeah I guess doors open." Colton walks in and sits on my bed.

"Look I'm sorry for yelling at you, and I want to take you out tonight for your birthday, since tomorrow you probably already have plans. Okay?"

"Yeah I'm going out with Kate tomorrow. But sure. I'll go out with you."

"Okay we are leaving in an hour. Wear something formal." He says as he walks out of the room.

I get up an just decide to curl my hair. I turn on my iPod and play some music. Say Something by A Great Big World comes on. This is my favorite song right now. I've always wanted to sing a duet with this song. 

I put on my short black dress with lace on the back, and pink heels.

"Colton. I'm ready." I say as I walk out of my bedroom.

He looks nice in jeans. I never see him in jeans.

We walk out to the car and get in. "Where are we going?"

"You'll see. We pull up at this Italian Restaurant. I love Italian.

We go inside and I order chicken pasta with a water. Colton hasn't even talked to me the whole time, he has been smiling down at his phone the whole time. When the waiter comes with my food, I ask if the can go box it up. Colton still doesn't look up. When he brings it back to me, I give him $20 for my meal and a tip, and I get up and leave. I walk outside and flag down a cab. I get in a tell him Kate's address. When we are about to pull away I see Colton come out and try to stop the cab. "Drive." I tell him and he pulls away.
