Chapter 23: The Big Day

Fran POV

So today is the big day where I become Mrs Hernández. I have to admit I am very nervous but at the same time I'm really excited. When I was young, I never thought I would ever get married and I'll never find true love but I guessed wrong. I have wonderful friends and family who are always by my side. My life is almost complete.

Vilu POV

I woke up from my bed, it was still pitch black outside as it is 5 in the morning. Because the wedding is today I decided to wake up early so I can go see Leon in the hospital for a few hours and then I have to go to Frans house around 10am. I silently get changed into my clothes and I packed my dress for the wedding so I don't need to go home after I visit Leon at the hospital and I can drive to Frans from there.

I start the engine of my car and I drive to the hospital. It was a quiet journey, no radio, no cars, just me. After 15 minutes of driving in silence I arrive at the hospital and I make my way to Leon's room. I slowly open the door and I see someone already there. That person had brown short hair and I knew who that was.

V: Umm... what are you doing here Gery?
G: Can't I see my future boyfriend.
V: Leon will never be your future girlfriend. You never were together.
G: But we could've but as usual you got in the way.
V: I don't get why we're talking about this, how did you get here anyway?
G: Easy, I snuck in since there was no one at reception.
V: Can you please leave me alone with MY boyfriend.
G: I'm not leaving till he wakes up.

What she doesn't know is that I pressed the button that's by the bed and his doctor rushed into the room.

D: Excuse me Miss but I'm afraid you have to leave.
G: You heard the doctor Violetta.
D: Actually I'm talking to you, Miss Castillo signed into reception so she can stay.
G: This isn't over.
V: It already is. And with that she walked out of the room and closed the door. Thank you doctor.
D: No problem Violetta but I have to talk to you.
V: Is it good or bad news?
D: It's a bit of both actually. Leon's test results have come and his is completely fine, there are no broken bones or sprains but we don't know when he's going to wake up.
V: Oh I see, the main thing is that there's nothing wrong with him.
D: We're trying everything we can.
V: Thank you for everything doctor. I have to leave so is it possible if I can come visit him tonight. It will probably be late though.
D: The visiting hours will be over by then. It I'll see what we can do.
V: Again thank you. I'll see you later Leon, I love you. I give him a quick kiss on the lips.

I close the door of Leon's room and I make my way out of the hospital and towards my car and I drive to Frans house. Soon after I reach Frans door and I knock on it three times when the door opens and Cami is standing in front of me.

C: There you are? Where have you been.
V: Sorry I was at the hospital to visit Leon but then Gery was there and...
C: Wait what was Gery doing there?
V: To see her "Future boyfriend."
C: She hasn't changed, but come on we don't want the bride waiting.
V: Sure let's go.

We walk upstairs to Frans room. Her house seems quiet cause the guys slept in a hotel last night. We walked to her room and Ludmilla and Naty we're going her hair and make up.

F: Where were you?
V: I'm so sorry Fran, I was at the hospital
C: But then Gery showed up and wouldn't leave.
F: Don't worry, you're here and I love you.
V: Thank you, so what are we waiting for, let's help the bride.

We got Fran ready, and after 2 hours we are done. She looked so beautiful in her white and skinny dress. We all let out a few tears.

L: Let's not cry girls or we'll smudge our make up.
N: We can't help it, Fran, you look gorgeous.
F: Thank you guys, now you're going to make me cry.
L: The limo has just arrived outside, we should get going.

We walk downstairs and into a white shiny limo, there were five champagne glasses and bottle in a icy cold bucket and a TV that said 'Congratulations Francesca' It was a very luxurious limo. The driver put some of our songs on and we were singing our hearts out.

We arrived at the church, and we walk through the arch doors. We hide behind the main doors straightening Frans dress and fixing her hair and make up. We suddenly hear the chimes of the church bell. It's time.

Fran POV

The wedding music starts to play and the double doors fling open and everyone is standing up staring at me with their beading eyes. I slowly walk down the isle towards the front of the church where I can see Diego looking at me with a huge smile on his face and looks like he's about to cry, my dad is walking next to me with out arms linked together. I notice I see someone in the crowd that I never wanted to see and that someone is Tomas. What is he doing here? I never invited him! I'll completely ignore him. As we arrive my dad gives me a kiss on the cheek and sitting down in the front row next to my mum. I look at Diego and stare into his eyes and he does the same.

V: we are gathered together here in the sign of God – and in the face of this company – to join together Diego Hernández and Francesca Caviglia in holy matrimony, Diego will you have this woman to be your wife, to live together. Will you love her, comfort her, honour, and keep her in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all others, keep thee only unto her, so long as you both shall live?
D: I will.
V: Francesca will you have this man to be your husband, to live together. Will you love him, comfort him, honour, and keep him in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all others, keep thee only unto him, so long as you both shall live?
F: I will.
V: And now for the vows. Diego shall start.
D: I promise to love and care for you, and I will try in every way to be worthy of your love.
I will always be honest with you, kind, patient and forgiving. I promise to try to be on time.
But most of all, I promise to be a true and loyal friend to you. I love you.
V: Francesca?
F: I take you to be my partner for life, I promise above all else to live in truth with you
And to communicate fully and fearlessly, I give you my hand and my heart as a sanctuary of warmth and peace and pledge my love, devotion, faith and honour as I join my life to yours.
V: May we have the rings please. Federico gives Diego the ring and I give Fran the ring and they place it on each others finger whilst smiling at each other. By the power invested in me, you may now kiss the bride.

We both lean in and our lips connected together. The sound of applause and cheering filled the room. I looked at everyone with smiles on there face and a few had tears rolling down their cheeks. I then look at Tomas who had no emotion on his face.

Diego and I walk back down the isle and everyone else follows us. Everyone went to get changed for the after party. And there is going to be a surprise that only me and Diego know for someone. It's going to be a great evening.

So this is the chapter before the final chapter. I know, it's sad but this story won't be over yet. 😉
