Chapter Twenty-Three

Whoa. Am I actually updating? Yeah! All of the comments I've been getting lately on this story have been so positive and they make me so happy every time a new comment comes on. Thank you to anyone who ever commented, read and/or voted for this story. It truly means a lot to me. :)

****Amy's POV****

With my arms around him and his lightly touching my waist, for the first time in forever I felt okay. The feeling of numbness in my heart had melted away and I was in heaven. I smiled against his lips and pulled away, looking into those eyes that had haunted my dreams. "I missed you." I whispered. Loki smiled down at me and gently took my hands in his, kissing my knuckles. "And I my dear, missed you infinitely more."

Suddenly a crackling light hit the ground about 10 feet away and shook the ground. "Darling did you really have to bring him?" Loki sighed, glaring at the light. "Loki he's here to help cut him some slack" I say, punching him lightly in the shoulder. He sighs rather dramatically again and keeps glaring at the light that's slowly fading away, revealing a shape of a man. I intwine my hand with his and stand on my tip toes to steal a quick kiss on the cheek. He squeezed my hand and smirked down at me. Before he could say anything though Thor had emerged from the lightening, a huge grin on his face. "Amy! I am so pleased you made it in one piece! And the transporter was faster than the God of Thunders! Very impressive of Stark and Banner." He stepped closer and nodded at Loki, who still continued to stare suspiciously at Thor. Thor touched my shoulder lightly and said in a lower voice. "But don't tell them that their machine defeated me Amy or I will never here the end of it." I laughed and hugged Thor, my happiness overwhelming. My two favorite people, together with me again.

I side-glanced at Loki after Thor and I separated and he was fuming. Thor noticed and chuckled, smacking a hand on Loki's shoulder. "Brother there are no words to describe how thankful I am this woman entered your life. When I look at her I see a woman who truly loves you and I'm so happy for the two of you. Now let's get you out of this mess shall we?" I couldn't keep a straight face during Thor's speech because Loki's face was probably the funniest thing I'd ever seen. Loki stood beside me completely speechless, staring at his brother. Finally he found his words again and cleared his throat, looking down at me and then back at Thor. "Brother this is going to be the only time I'm going to say this so listen carefully." His expression darkened and glared at Thor. Loki took a deep breath and placed a hand over Thor's on his own shoulder. "I will forever be in your debt for keeping my Amy safe. Thank you, brother." He smirked and let go, his hand finding mine once more. Thor at first looked kind of terrified, but then his face relaxed and a grin slowly formed on his face.

As I leaned closer in to Loki he wrapped his arm around me and I hardly noticed the shadows in the distance. But they were there, coming closer and closer to us. "Loki..." But he had already seen them and his whole body tensed beside me. "Thor, you need to go. Take Amy with you. The Frost Giants will not be pleased that I broke their trust." Loki's words were sharp and rushed. He wouldn't look at me. Thor began to swing his hammer and I stepped away from Loki and turned toward him. "If you think I'm leaving you're dead wrong Loki. I haven't come this far to say goodbye to you again." I stood my ground, crossing my arms. "Lady Clark is right Loki. We are not leaving without you with us." Loki sighed in frustration and yelled "You don't understand Thor! They will kill both of you unless you leave." The Frost Giants were coming closer when I thought of an idea. "Loki quick. Change into your Jotenheim form and handcuff Thor and I." Loki's eyes widened and cuffs appeared in his hands. Thor threw his hammer as far as he could in the opposite direction of the Giants and knelt beside me. I stared at him curiously and he replied "Mjölnir will come again when I need it. The Frost Giants do not need to know of its whereabouts." I nodded, impressed and glanced up at Loki in his natural form. He bent down so we were eye level and whispered "Say nothing. The Frost Giants are viscous creatures and are angered easily." I nod and my eyes widen as the Frost Giants approach.

"Sir,we heard a disturbance and came to make sure you were still intact." A Frost Giant stated, stepping forward. There must have been at least 20 Giants crowded around us. "Chief Ymir I discovered these two trespassing on our land." Loki yelled loud enough for all the Frost Giants to hear. "We must take them back to the castle to be dealt with accordingly." The Frost Giants cheered after Loki's command and the Chief Frost Giant approached me. "Well what a pretty little pet. We can keep her with the other one." Loki turned sharply and glared at the Giant. "What do you mean?" Loki hissed. "Sir have you not met our little pet we keep in the dungeons? She cooks and sings for some of the guards. Can this one sing?" Loki glared at Ymir and I knelt in the snow, frozen to my bones in fear. Loki slowly nodded, saying "Yes, of course. It would do the guards good to have another entertainer." He spat the words out at the Frost Giant but the Chief had already moved on, glaring at Thor. "Laufeyson this one should be executed immediately. Then we can serve his head to Asgard on a platter!" He menacingly glared at Thor while the rest of the Frost Giants yelled and cheered in agreement. Loki lifted his hands out and his scepter appeared in his hand. He raised it up, silencing the crowd. "We will take them back to the court. Their fate will then be decided." The crowd was quiet and nodded in agreement and the Chief picked me up, hoisting me over his shoulder. A yelp escaped me but one glance at Loki silenced me. If I wanted to stay alive, I had to just go with it. Thor got pulled by another Frost Giant. The Frost Giants were cruel, but at least I didn't have to walk in the freezing snow.

I could feel my feet becoming asleep from being carried. I don't know how long it's been, but silence consumed this strange world. The snow swirled all around us and i couldn't stop my teeth from chattering. Thor seemed fine in the weather, considering he only wore his traditional Asgardian clothing.

The Frost Giants don't speak and it's not like I could just start talking to Thor or Loki. I began lightly tracing my fingers on the Frost Giants back. The heat from my body would temporarily change the blue skin to a darker colour. It was entertaining to say the least. Apparently the Frost Giant didn't feel the same way. Before I knew what was happening I was being thrown into the chilling snow on my back. "What do you think you're doing?" His voice was so loud I could feel it vibrate my jaw. I couldn't speak I was so scared, all I could do was stutter. Loki grabbed the Chiefs arm and spat. "We are close to the grounds Ymir. Hurt my prisoners without my permission again and you will be crushed." The Chief obeyed and picked me back up again. I was so cold I couldn't stop shaking.

Thankfully the castle was ahead and we were soon inside. I was hoping to find warmth in the safety of walls, but I was mistaken. The cold was slowly making my body numb and my thoughts were becoming fuzzy. I had a jacket and boots on, but nothing could have prepared me for the harsh winter in Jotenheim.

The Chief dropped me suddenly onto the floor and I crumbled down. I couldn't find the strength to stand I was so cold. Loki hovered over me, trying to mask his distress. "We have to get her warm and well again before we can interrogate her. Take her to the dungeons and give her blankets and anything to warm her." The Chief grunted and picked me up again and that's when everything went black, with Loki's face the last thing I see.
