Chapter Thirteen
As I strolled back to my room to change I kept going over what had just happened in the kitchen with Loki. He looked like he was about to kiss me but then he stopped abruptly. All I wanted him to do was feel his lips on mine but he thinks it was a mistake. I touched my lips and sighed, thinking back to when his lips were on mine. I walked into my room and picked out a nice white thin strapped dress with a navy blue bow on the waist tying at the back. It ended at my knees and I had to admit it, with my tan skin and dark hair I looked pretty cute, which was rare for me. I let my hair dry naturally so it had some waves in it and let it flow down my back. I smiled to myself and grabbed a pair of black ballet flats on the way out of my room. Heels really just weren't my thing.
"Wow... Someone looks beautiful" a low voice muttered behind me. I jumped at the voice, startled and whipped my body around to face him. It was Loki and I immediately felt the blood rush to my face. He was leaning against my doorframe with his arms crossed, staring at me with a smirk that made my heart flutter. He changed as well, wearing all black except for a green scarf around his neck. I smiled at him and said "Thanks, you don't look so bad yourself". His smirk widened into showing all of his perfectly white teeth and I blushed deeper. Loki opened his mouth to speak again but was cut off by a loud crash coming from down the hall followed by the whole place shaking, almost knocking me down. Loki's eyes widened and he turned towards the noise, stepping in front of me. "What was that?" I whispered, fear making me tremble. A loud roar came from down the hall and it sounded vaguely familiar. Loki turned around to look at me and he lightly grasped my shoulders. "Amy I need to ask you to stay inside your room. Everything will be fine, just let me handle this. I don't want you to get hurt" I was about to protest but he put a hand over my mouth, staring deeply into my eyes. "Amy please.." I nodded and he loosened his grip on my mouth. He slowly let his hand fall, letting it trail down my chin before letting it fall to his side. I shivered at his touch and quickly kissed him on the cheek. "Be safe" I whispered in his ear and before he could see me blush I ran into my room and with one last look at Loki, I closed the door. I collapsed onto my bed and trembled as I heard another crash. Tears brimmed my eyes as I thought of Loki. 'I'm sure he'll be fine' I thought 'He's the God of Mischief. He'll get out of this.' I repeated these phrases over and over in my head but of course they only made my heart beat faster with worry. Even though I was trying to assure myself I was still scared for him. I got up from my bed and ran to the door, pressing my ear against it. I could hear someone yelling and I tried to open the door, but to my dismay it was locked. Damn it. I paced the room for what seemed like hours with my heart beating faster every time I heard a crash. I felt helpless and stupid. I should have fought with Loki and stayed out there with him. What is going on out there? I just hope Loki and Langridge are okay.
