Chapter Three
Loki stared at me dumbfounded and at a loss for words. I smirked saying " What? The God of Mischief has nothing to say?" Loki shook his head glaring at me once more. He dragged me over to Thor and kept a tight grip on my arm. "Thor I will leave your precious Midgard alone. This woman has made a deal with me to keep Earth and it's inhabitants safe and I accept it. Do not try and rescue her or the deal is off and I will bring myself and my army back. Do you understand?" Thor was at a loss for words as well, so I spoke up. "So you accept my deal?" I ask holding my other hand out to shake. Loki stared at my hand and glanced at me with a puzzled expression. "We shake hands Loki. That's how we roll in Midgard." he scoffs but takes his hand out to confirm the deal. "Very well then young mortal. I swear on my life I will not come back to haunt this planet and I will leave it alone. I will never come back, I swear. If only you keep up your side of the bargain. Now you go" he smiled at me darkly and I answered "Loki if you promise to never come back and leave Earth alone I will come with you to wherever you are from and not fight you to get away. I swear on my own life as well as my families lives that I will stay as your prisoner for the rest of my life" As we shook a single tear fell from my eye from thinking of my parents, how I will now never see them again. Loki (to my disappointment) saw the tear and watched it trickle down my cheek.
I saw something flash in his eyes. A hint of compassion maybe? No Loki doesn't have a caring bone in his body. He loosens his grip on my arm once more and gently takes my hand instead. Thor is fuming mad in front of us but I can't see a thing, my tears have clouded my vision. I start to think of my friends as well and that makes me even more upset. I won't be able to say my goodbyes to anyone. I will never be able to tell them how much I love them and how grateful I am for having them in my life. I will never have another laugh with Ivy or another Christmas with my parents. I will never get married and never have little ones of my own. What have I done?
By now I'm choking back sobs and wiping my tear stained face with my other hand while staring at the ground, unable to make eye contact with anyone. "Loki... Are you actually going to go through with this? Take this girl away from everything she's known? Away from her family, her friends, a love life?" Thor whispered. I glimpsed at Loki's face and he looked torn but then he shook it off glaring at Thor uttering "If you remember dear Brother, Odin took me as a baby from my own home. Of course I was too young to remember it, but because of that my whole life has been a lie. If Odin could take away a helpless baby for his own personal gain, then I can surely take this mortal for my own reasons." While Loki was talking my vision cleared from the crying and I studied his face compared to his brothers. They really looked nothing alike. Loki had black hair with high cheekbones and thin pale lips while Thor was more full in the face with blonde stubble and pale blue eyes. His blonde hair was long, easily reaching his shoulders and his complexion was slightly tanner than Loki's. Most people would probably prefer Thor because of his muscles and blue eyes, but I felt no attraction to him. Instead I found myself thinking of my captor and his beautifully sculpted face. Wait, beautifully sculpted face? This is my kidnapper and a man who's killed many of my people. I despise him and his good looks.
When Loki finished he strode away, dragging me further down the streets and leaving Thor standing there only for a moment before he started marching after us, swinging his giant hammer in his hand. I could hear Loki mumbling something but I couldn't understand what he was saying. It didn't sound English that's for sure. I glanced at his staff and saw an eery bright blue glowing ball at the end of it, realizing it was the same colour as Loki's eyes. I gasped and turned to Loki to see him smirking at me in amusement. "If you think this is strange your in for quite a ride young mortal." My tears were drying up and I sniffled. Man I must have looked attractive.
I looked behind me a moment before Thor roared and leaped into the air, speeding towards us. Loki saw him coming as well and ran us over to the sidewalk. I didn't even have time to comprehend what was happening before Loki grabbed me and dove for the ground. He pulled me down underneath him as Thor landed with a crash behind us, his hammer smashing into the ground. Thor may be a great savior to Earth but man does he have a temper.
