Chapter Six
After rummaging through the closet for about an hour I finally settled on a royal blue blouse with dark skinny jeans and white ballet flats. In front of the mirror there was a small dresser full of jewelry and accessories. I pulled out a brush and combed my long brown hair, still wet from the shower I had right after Loki left. I can't tell what time it is, I can't find a clock anywhere in this room but from what I can see from outside my window it looks like its around four. My view from my window isn't much that's for sure. All I can see is a barren wasteland in front of me. There's no trees or nature of any kind, just a flat dirt plain. I had no idea where I was, but it definitely didn't seem like a very beautfiul place.
While brushing out all the knots in my hair I set my eyes on all the jewelry in the dresser. Necklaces, earrings, bracelets, everything a girl could want. Did Loki get all this for me? Where would he have gotten all of this stuff. From the looks of my wardrobe it looked like he just stole half of Forever 21. I decided to just wear something simple so I grabbed a pair of small diamond earrings. I put them on and they dazzled and twinkled whenever I moved. I smiled to myself, knowing my best friend Ivy would approve. My smile faded as I thought of her and my throat started to burn again. I wondered if she had heard of my disappearance and if she had told my family. She lived a block away from me in her own apartment so she must have heard of Loki and I by now. As my mind drifts to Loki nervous bubbles startle me. Well of course I should be nervous about him, he's an insane God! I knew I should be afraid of him, he was planning to rule Earth for goodness sake. My previous fear and panic whenever I saw him had now faded. It was probably because of all the sleep I had. I still wasn't in my right mindset. However I was curious on the whole relationship between him and his brother. All the Norse mythology had been banned since the attack on New York (yet another hint to us that the Norse Gods were actually real and attacked us) so I knew nothing of this Odin or anything. If I was going to be living here for the rest of my life, at some point I knew I had to ask Loki.
A knock pounded on the door as someone called out "Lady Clark you are requested to dinner by Lord Laufeyson! He requests me to escort you there in five minutes!". A small burst of anger clouded me. I am not his slave and I will not be bossed around. But then I reluctantly realized that my stomach was starving and it was for the best that I went. "Okay I'm ready to go" I grumbled. I walk towards the door just as someone opens it. A man stood in front of the door smiling at me. He looked like an older gentleman, and he wore a black tux with a white bow tie. He had short grey hair and the man was quite skinny. He smiled kindly at me and took out one of his arms "Shall we?". I took his arm as he lead me down a series of hallways. The hallways were quite bare but were large, twisting and turning until we came to a grand hall with a long table in the middle. The biggest chandelier I've ever seen hung over the wooden table and a fireplace crackled underneath it against the wall. "Lord Laufeyson will be with you in a moment miss" said the man as he bowed and headed out of the room. I slowly walked around the room, still gawking at the chandelier. It was truly magnificient. There must have been a billion diamonds glittering with gold holders and mesmerizing designs. "Do you like the chandelier?" I jumped at the voice and turned around sharply. "Don't sneak up on me like that!" I glared at Loki who strolled towards me. He laughed at me and said "Sorry love, but I couldn't resist. You were so transfixed in the chandelier you didn't even hear my footsteps." I blushed when he called me love but quickly shook it off, determined not to let him off that easily. I refused to be friends with my captor. "Why don't you come sit down? The food is going to be great." he said motioning to the chairs. I sat down on the opposite end of him, the table making a large and endless stretch between us. This is going to be the longest dinner I've ever had.
