Sakura awoke with a gasp, something very different this time around. Only just a few seconds ago, she was one hundred and two years old and taking her final breath. That had been her thirty third life in which she was a genius pianist, and it was a whole lot of fun since the thrill of being on stage was quite enjoyable, as she had learnt in her twenty ninth life as a dancer.

By now, she should be popping out of her mother's womb and into the blindingly bright lights. She shouldn't have been remembering her past lives until she was about three.

Instead, Sakura found herself floating in someplace dark. She couldn't see anything, and she could clearly remember all of her previous lives. And, as she looked her hands, she realized that her hands were the size of a teen or adult's

Just as these thoughts flitted through Sakura's mind a voice, female, floated through the darkness. "Honey. Time to wake up." The darkness was flooded with light as an image appeared in front of Sakura. It was blurry at first, but it began to clear up, revealing a beautiful woman with long black hair pulled into a low tail.

"Mmm?" Someone hummed in response as the image seemed to close, and went dark again, as if someone closed their eyes again. "Ma, my head hurts." A young male voice groaned, and they opened their eyes causing the image to appear again.

The woman reached down and Sakura felt the hand on her forehead, but she somehow knew it wasn't her that the woman was touching.

"You don't have a fever but why don't you stay in bed for a little while more?" The woman stood up and left the room and the image disappeared again.

Was she in someone else's head? Did something go wrong with the rebirthing and she ended up here? Who's head was she in?

Clutching a hand to her chest, Sakura forced herself to calm down. She had been in worse situations before. And in the dark, she desperately tried to convince herself of this, even though she knew it wasn't true.

The sound of footsteps floating though the dark space Sakura was trapped in alerted both her and the person she was inside of that the woman had returned, and the image returned.

"Here's some porridge, hun. Get out of bed when you feel better. Your brother wants to train with you, he's hardly containing himself." She woman told her son.

The boy sat up, and allowed his mother to place the tray on his lap. "Thank you."

The boy began to eat the porridge slowly once the woman left the room, and Sakura found that she could taste it as well. Getting an idea that she felt was pretty stupid but worth a try Sakura called out cautiously. "Hello?"

The spoon clattered into the bowl with a large clang. "The hell?" The boy wondered out loud.

"You can hear me?" Hope blossomed in Sakura's chest, before the boy's cold, hard panic gripped her heart.

"Where are you?" The boys shoulders were stiff with alarm.

Sakura smiled regardless of this, at least she had some connection to the outside world. "I'm in your head."

Sakura felt his shoulder's drop and he held his face in his eyes, once again making the image in front of Sakura go dark. "I'm going insane, aren't I?"

She went into experimental scientist mode, "No, I don't think so. Hey, instead of saying it out loud, try just thinking what you want to say. I want to test it out." Sakura was all bubbles and sunshine, trying to cheer up the increasingly depressed boy.

'"Hello?" The boy thought to himself, and the word still rang perfectly clearly in Sakura's head. "Great. Now I'm talking to myself."
