I have no goddamn clue how Madara survived and lived to be so old. I watched a couple youtube vids about it and read about it as I was planning out the plot today but I still don't get it so I apologize if the story gets inaccurate near the end.

"Saku-chan, you seem to be in a good mood today."

"That's because I am," Sakura shrugged.

For the first time since arriving in this timeline, Sakura had slept. She didn't need to sleep when she was in Madara's head––when he was tired she was and when he was rested she was too. Whenever she was tired she would just return to Madara's head and watch over his dreams for the night.

After materializing to comfort Madara, Sakura had planned on going back to his head when he fell asleep but after a couple hours of sitting in silence and not sensing his chakra fade into a resting state, she guessed she was the first to doze off. When she woke up the next morning she found herself tucked into bed with Madara asleep on the couch downstairs.

Sakura was now sprawled out on the river bank, cloud watching with Hashirama sitting on her right and Madara sitting on her left. She thoughtlessly brushed a strand of her hair over the mouth and nose, lost in the sound of the river and feeling of the sun on her bare legs.

"Glad to hear that," Hashirama beamed at her. "So, what do you guys want to name the village?"

Madara gazed at the river thoughtfully for a few moments before shrugging. "No clue."

"How about Sakumadahashi?"

Sakura bounced into a sitting position, her hair flying out of her fingers when she whipped around to face Hashirama. "Why's my name in there?" She asked incredulously.

"What?" Hashirama stammered, startled by her sudden questioning. "What do you mean? You're helping us start the village, making you one of the co-founders, no?" He spoke slowly, laying out what seemed only obvious to him.

Sakura stared at him for a few short minutes with a dumbfounded expression, Madara watching the exchange curiously. She turned and gazed at the river for only a moment before falling back to stare at the sky once more. "...Konoha."

"Hm?"

"If I'm one of the co-founders I get a say in the name too, right? I want to name the village Konohagakure." Sakura spoke quietly, almost shyly.

"Village hidden in the leaves?"

"Yeah."

"I'm down for that," Madara laid down beside Sakura.

"Me too." Hashirama also crashed onto his back, his arms splaying out, one hitting Sakura in the stomach as it fell.

With a startled grunt, Sakura instantly pushed his arm off her with a playful shove. "You trynna start something Hashi?" She was on her feet at once, body sliding into a loose and joking stance.

"What if I am?"

With a startled scream, Sakura found herself being tackled into the water.

The two shot Hashirama quick waves before turning and disappearing into the woods. Hashirama also went his separate way, heading back to his village after a couple hours of switching between playing in the water and discussing the village.

Once she was sure they were out of sight, Sakura closed her eyes and focused her chakra towards Madara's forehead.

"...Madara?"

"Yeah?"

"What's up with your eyes?"

Something was off. Sakura could feel the unusual amount of chakra circulating effortlessly through Madara's eyes. And they felt different––freshly healed or something. Sakura could sense the immediate shift in his emotions in the pit of her stomach as she asked that question.
