"Good Morning, Ma'am....Maine Mendoza po....." Maine says with a smile.
"Ahh...yes....are you the new girl?" Rj's mom asks.
"Yes po....Ms. Cathy sent me over po....she say's that I will be the one po to deliver the papers you need....here po...."
"Ah yes...yes...have a seat, hija."
"Thank you po...."
Maine began working for Rj's parents' company a few months ago. She was 'promoted' to be the 'special assistant' of Mr. and Mrs. Faulkerson. From this day, she would visit Rj's house on a regular basis and eventually made their home her office.
She had heard about Rj through the office vine. Some of the employees actually asked her if he was the spoiled brat that people were talking about a lot. "Di ko pa sya nakikita...or nakikilala....sa pictures lang...ang daming pictures!"
But that changed soon. She may not have met him personally yet but she would hear him curse and scream almost daily.
"Manang....si Rj po ba yun?"
"....."
"Kasi sigaw ng sigaw....araw araw ata sumisigaw....galit?"
"....pagpasensyahan mo na....na-i-spoil kasi ng husto...kaya ayan..."
"Si Manang lang ang nakakapagpa-kalma dyan...." Lani, the cook, joined in their conversation.
"Nag-iisang anak kasi yang si Jay....eh, sakitin nung bata....kala ni Ricky at Chat, mawawala yang si Jay kaya binigay lahat-lahat...tapos, unang apo na lalake pa ng mga Lolo't Lola nya kaya doble-doble ang pagpapa-spoil.....sakit ng ulo nila ngayon....buti nalang di nagbbisyo....."
"Eh Manang....mukhang matagal na kayo dito ahh....." Maine said calmly.
"Oo....mga 20 years na rin siguro....di ko na binibilang....ako ang nagpalaki kay Jay....pero maraming beses na rin akong nagpaalam para umalis....kapag nagbabakasyon ako sa amin, sya pa rin ang iniisip ko...."
Just then, they heard Jay slam the door and scream, "YAYA CAARRRIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNGGGGGGG!! YAYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
"Sandali lang..." Yaya Caring excused herself from their conversation. "Jay! Bakit?" she called out.
"At eto na naman po ang lumunok ng megaphone...." Lani said, rolling her eyes.
"Ate! Marinig ka nun...." Maine bumped her shoulder against Ate Lani's shoulder.
"Okay lang yan...alam nya na yun ang tawag ko sa kanya...." Lani chuckled.
"...eh ikaw Ate, gaano ka na katagal bilang kusinera?"
"Ako? Mga 8 years na rin....muntik-muntikan na rin ako umalis noon....sakit sa ulo din yang si Jay e....mapili sa pagkain....pero siguro, nakuha ko rin yung gusto nya kaya di na nya ako masyadong pinapagalitan o inaaway.....Etong si Pining, madalas napagt-tripan ni Rj....." Lani nodded towards the direction of Pining who was at the opposite side of the kitchen, arranging things.
"Guguluhin nya yung pagka-ayos ko ng gamit tapos aawayin ko...." Pining explained.
"Ay! May topak nga..." Maine said.
"Kaya ayun....ginugulo ko din yung gamit nya minsan....bawi-bawi lang...." Pining said, shaking her head, chuckling.
"Maingay lang yang si Rj, masungit, pero malambing din naman yan e..." Lani said.
