'What was that noise?!' I asked myself, getting up from bed. It was almost noon, but it was the weekend, so I had enjoyed sleeping in. Now, though, I was rudely awakened by a impossibly loud crashing noise.

Getting up and opening my bedroom door, it was immediately obvious what the noise had been. Mostly due to the lack of a roof.

Or, rather, my roof had caved in. Immediately wide awake, I looked around for the culprit- and briefly saw two green shapes before they flew away.

'Flew?!' I questioned myself, unbelieving. 'But they looked like people? And the last time I checked, people don't fly.'

Nonetheless, I rushed out of my house, not caring that I was still dressed for bed. I needed to find those two- it's not like I could afford an entirely new roof, after all. I was going to get them  to pay for it if it was the last thing I did.

Unsurprisingly, it didn't take long to find the two. After all, I just had to follow the crowd; everyone was watching the "super hero" and 'Número Uno" fight. That's what I gathered from the whispering I heard from the crowd around me.

At one point the pair started shooting green lasers at each other, and nearly everyone else fled the scene.

'Weird how their color is green.' I laughed in my head, 'Green is Edd's color-' It suddenly occurred to me.

That was Edd up there. I didn't know the other person, but I suddenly recognized Edd. He lived near me, and I was familiar with his friends.

Suddenly, another ball of green light was fired by the mystery man. Edd deflected it easily though- but this caused it to come straight towards where I was standing and looking towards the sky.

Unable to move fast enough, the ground a few feet to my right was struck, and I went flying.

Número Uno's POV

I fired laser after laser at Edd.

"Just give it up, Edd! I am Número Uno!" I yelled, not relenting. Edd still deflected it though- and instead it hit home right next to someone standing on the ground.

Distracted by this, I took this opportunity to catch Edd when he wasn't paying attention. I was finally successful, and he hurtled towards the ground after being hit with a green beam.

I laughed, floating down to the ground next to him.

"How does it feel to come in second place?" I scoffed at him. Kicking dirt in his face, I turned around to go back to destroying the city- but was stopped by a punch to my face. I saw black.

Your POV

"Edd, are you okay?" I helped Edd up off of the ground, making sure he was okay.

After a coughing fit, he replied; "Yeah, I'm good." Edd cracked a smile, trying to reassure me that he was okay. "I'm actually more worried about Eduardo, honestly. You hit him pretty hard."

We both turned towards 'Eduardo,' who was actually bleeding from a cut in his forehead. He seemed to have other more minor injuries, too.

"It might be a good idea to get him to a doctor..." Edd trailed off, looking around.

"Hey, you're hurt too, even if not as bad." I cut in, "I'll take him to the hospital a few blocks away. You get home and see if Tom and Matt can patch you up." I didn't want Edd to restrain himself any more than he had to, especially since he had to be tired from that intense fight.

"Alright, alright." Edd chuckled, getting his bearings to find out which direction his home was in.

"Take care, (Y/n)!" Edd yelled as he walked away and out of sight, and now I was left alone with an unconscious Eduardo. Great.

It took a good fifteen minutes to get to the hospital, most of that time being me trying (and failing) to pick Eduardo up and get to the hospital safely. He was surprisingly heavy.

A lot of hurt civilians were there as well, but Eduardo seemed to be injured the most, so the doctor took him in right away. I sat patiently in the waiting room, mostly looking around.

At one point I considered just leaving. 'I mean, it's not like he knows me. If he wakes up and finds no one is here, he shouldn't be surprised.'

Before I could come to a decision, however, my name was called out.

"(Y/n)?" A doctor called, and when I stood up she beckoned me to a long hallway with a myriad of doors that I assumed were hospital rooms.

"Room 102." She smiled kindly, gripping her clipboard tighter to her chest and going back to her post at the front desk.

Looking around, it didn't take long to find room 102. Hovering my hand over the doorknob, I once again considered backing out. But then I remembered Edd and how I promised to take care of Eduardo. So I took in a breath, exhaled, and opened the door.

I immediately regretted my decision.

Eduardo was already up, so when I entered the room our eyes instantly met. I just looked away and didn't move from the doorway.

"...Well... you coming in?" Eduardo spoke up, the strange look on his face when I entered now gone.

I said nothing as I stepped further into the small hospital room and closed the door behind me.

"Hey... you're the one that I- uhm, that got hit with that laser beam, right?" He suddenly asked, catching me off guard.

"Yeah, thanks for that, by the way." I let Eduardo know outright that I saw it was him that shot the beam that hit me.

"Heh... sorry about that." He vaguely apologized, and it was silent again.

"I should apologize, too." I chuckled, and Eduardo looked curious. "I was the one that, uh, punched you unconscious." I admitted, and Eduardo surprisingly didn't seem too upset. He just laughed.

Eduardo and I talked a little more. Mostly about why he was attempting to destroy his town, a little bit about myself. But I mostly just wanted to hear about him. An believe me, he was happy to talk.

The day ended with us snuggled up on the cramped hospital bed, tired from hours of talking.

I made a mental note to thank Edd later.

Extra:

"Hey Eduardo?" I asked on the short walk home.

"Yeah?"

"You're paying for my roof."
