Chapter 1:
My mom always said my dad was a player. It looks like me and him aren't alike. But that doesn't matter because I'm glad he didn't stay and screw us up even more. That's what I always thought he would do, and my mom. But if he did like us, he would've stayed.
That's what I was thinking when I was trying to fit into my new polo shoes. Monday was always a slow day for me. My mom was yelling at me to hurry up, but I'm am very slow when changing and she knows that too. When I got downstairs, there was a pleasant smell of pancakes, stacked on top of each other. I eat an awful lot, so this was a regular breakfast for me.
"Are you ready to ace that Spanish test today?" My mother said.
"Of course I am, it's in my blood," I bragged.
"Just making sure you didn't lose a couple of screws while staying up all night reading".
"I can't help it! I'm a nerd when it comes to reading."
My mother proceeded to then give me a hug and a big kiss on the top of my forehead. She likes to give me those a lot. I then gobbled down all five of my pancakes and finished my glass of milk in one gulp. My mom thinks I am a goat when it comes to food.
"Well, you have a nice day today ok?" She asked.
"Yes I will, I promise" I said. "Adios!"
"Adios Chico!"
That's my special nickname that she likes to all me. I then grabbed my twenty pound backpack and headed out the door to the bus stop. There, I would meet my best friend Juan. I would meet someone else I wouldn't even have known about too......
