Chapter 18:
I always went to a restaurant with my family. I never went to a restaurant with a girl, or anyone from school. The only person was Juan, and it was with his family too. So this was going to be a bit strange.
.
"Right this way," the hostess told me as she grabbed to menus and led me to my table. It was in the center of the restaurant, in front of all of the other customers. I was sweating bullets, afraid all those people may look at us. But with her, I would be fine next to a girl like her.
I placed myself into the closest seat at the table for two, and waited for my waitress. When she appeared at my table, she looked like she was rushing all over the place, with her anxiously flipping her little notebook.
"What do u want to drink sir," I rapidly exclaimed at me.
"Well my date is not here, but I think we will both take a water please," I told her.
She listened, and then ran off to go to another table and take there order. I watched her ad she almost tripped on a waiter foot who was caring four plates at once. She redeemed herself from tripping, and then walked to the table. I was laughing hysterically, tears coming out of my eyes. I looked across my table, but remembered she wasn't there. That's when I stopped laughing.
I texted her to tell her to hurry up since I was already seated at the table, and ordered the drinks. She didn't reply back, and I was wondering what she was doing. I waited consciously, looking at y phone every few minutes to see if she replied. But she didn't.

It was thirty minutes into the dinner, and I was drinking my cold, glass of water. I was looking forward, wondering what it would be like if she was there. My waitress returned back, looking even worst than before. Today must have been a busy day.
"Would you like an appetizer," she asked me, with her pen shaking impatiently in her hand.
"Yes I would like a Cesar salad please," I told her, as she sort of scribbled into her notebook and ran off. I then took a sip of water, and held the cup in my hand. I just waited for her to come behind me and surprise me. But she never did.

Fifty minutes into the dinner, and I had just finished demolishing my Cesar salad. I loved salads, nutritious and delicious. I wiped some dressing off my face, when the waitress once again came up in an exhausted expression.
"Are you ready for your entree now," she questioned me, almost murmuring it as if she was losing her voice.
"......sure," I said cautiously," I want the salmon with the brown rice please."
"Ok that will be ten minutes," she explained to me, and then trotted away. I looked behind me and saw no one coming over to me. I didn't see a girl, every time I turned around, walking towards me. I didn't see my date. I didn't ever see Valerie.

An hour, and no sign of Valerie. I finished the last piece of salmon, and wiped my mouth with a napkin. I took the last sip of water I had left, and saw the waiter appear in the corner of my eye. She had a little piece of paper in her hand, and I knew what it was.
"Here's your bill sir," she said as she handed the bill to me. I took it, and looked at the price.$24.48. Wasn't entirely bad, but I thought it would be more expensive. I paid her with the cash I earned for cutting the grass, and handed it to her.
"Thank you and have a splendid day," she said as she walked away rapidly. I sat there for two other minutes, just looking at the chair across from me. Looked at it one more time. Looked at how it empty it was, how no one was sitting in it. How the girl I liked a lot and thought liked me ditched me. She probably never even liked me. She probably played me.......
I felt a slow tear running down my cheek. I had tears coming out of my eyes earlier. But those were laughing tears. This was sad tear. I got up, and ran out of the restaurant. I ran to my car, opening it with such furry and hate. I slammed the door and locked the doors. I slammed my fist into the tire, slamming the one after another. I felt my fist aching with pain, but I kept punching. That's when I felt the blood start to trickle out of my skin onto my lap. I started to cry. Cry harder than when my dad died.
Because the girl I loved was just an illusion.......
