Chapter 6:

My mom always said that when I guy starts to hit you or fight you, you fight back. I never really had to use that advice, since I never got into fights with people. I always thought that peace was the way in solving things. Now I know not everyone wants peace.

As I was sitting outside of the principals office, I was sweating bullets. My mom looked a little angry when she entered the school, because she works forty minutes away. So it was just my mom, the principal, and the I.S.S. teacher, all in the same room. Never thought that would happen.

"He needs to be suspended for his act of aggression," I kept hearing the Mrs. Cherry say.

Me and the principal always had fun together. He would always call me into his office, but to reward me for good grades or excellent behavior. We would always talk about how his work was and when the next events would take place. He was like my wanna be dad.

"He did nothing wrong, that kid hit him first," I heard my mother squeal.

I was thinking the same thing, but I deserved a suspension. I broke Michael's nose. He had to got to the hospital and get some stitches on it. That's was the last thing the nurse told me. I felt so bad for him, even if he started the fight.

"Fernando, you can come in," I heard Mr. Stewart yell, so I could hear him.

When stepped into the room, it was dead silence in there. I think everyone could hear my heartbeats echo across the room. My mom looked like she cooled down a little, but I knew she must've fought like a champ.

"Sit down Fernando," he said, and I sat in the chair closest to him.

"I will not suspend you Fernando, since you have never been in a fight and always rated for your good behavior in class."

I exhaled what felt like a balloon full of air. I was holding my breath, hoping this wouldn't be in my permanent record. But since my good academics back me up, I can relax.

"Thank you sir," I said excitedly.

"Your welcome, but this is your first and only warning," he said.

"I'll treasure it," I said.

The I.S.S. teacher looked a little angry. She always wants kids to go to suspension, so she can torture them in her little dungeon of hers. She never really liked kids. I was going to say beat that, but then she would be even more furious. I know kids won this round.

"Now schools not over, so you can go back to fourth period now," he explained."

We all walked out of his office in complete silence, like nothing ever happened. My mom kissed me and said goodbye and then I was walking to my fourth period. It seemed like I was walking for ages, the hallway seeming to run endlessly. I finally stooped at my classroom door. I opened it, and I felt the cold air of the classroom splash me in the face. When I entered, I heard cheers of people clapping their hands and one kid even shook my hand. I felt like everyone was grateful for me standing up the the bully.

"Thanks for sticking up to me," I heard that beautiful faint voice of Valerie say.

"No problem," I said. "Just didn't like the way he was talking to you."

Well I appreciate it," she said and then she did something that has beer happened to me before. She handed me a piece of paper, and when I opened it, it was Eric phone number. I couldn't believe it. I have a girls phone number. I nearly got up and yelled in excitement in front of the whole classroom. But I stayed chill, and nodded my head to her. Now this was going to be a fun week.
