A Table for Two?

The Beginning of Eternity

Chapter 4:

My friend Juan is kind of a crazy guy when it comes to girls. He always asks for girls numbers, and almost always rejected. We are both wingmen for each other, and he says I need to be a better one. But he is my best wingman and my only one.

As me, Juan, and surprisingly Valerie ran to our home room, I was having trouble running with dress shoes. Anyway, while I was helping Valerie with her classes, I saw that she has all classes with me, except orchestra which I dominate on bass. Juan was very pumped up about it to.

"I'll get her number bro," he exclaimed," and then I will try to get to know her more for you."

"For me," I cried. "Why me?"

"Because she sat next to you, she chose you. That's saying something."

I was shocked. The girl that is pretty and from Puerto Rico an he wants to help me get her. And not even try to at least flirt with her. This was different behavior from my friend that I had never seen.

"Why are you guys late," our teacher , Mr. Rodriguez, questioned.

"Our bus was late," Juan said , although Mr. Rodriguez and Juan have a little bad blood between each other.

"This must be our new student," Mr. Rodriguez asked, ignoring what Juan said.

"Yes indeed I am," Valerie said cheerfully. She is so pretty...... I was losing focus of what I was doing.

"Everybody, I'll like you to meet Valerie, our new student."

Like before, more guys started to whistle and start getting all happy and stuff. Me an Juan were hysterical inside, because we knew she didn't care. There was an empty seat in the back of the classroom, right next to, of course, Michael. He looked surprised, and also intrigued. She rolled her eyes when she turned around to say bye to me and Juan, because we both sat in the front of the classroom. I knew this girl was just like us.
