Chapter 15:
I'm glad Valerie said yes. If I ever had any girl say yes to me, it's good that Valerie was that one girl. She's smart, has a funny sense of humor, and is very beautiful. Valerie is the only girl I have ever seen as the one for me. And now, she's the only one for me.
When I told Juan that, he almost freaked out. His eyes went wide, and he punched me in the stomach, knocking the air out of me. I gasped for air, trying to figure out why he did that.
"What was that for," I almost yelled at him, getting a little irritated now. Then I saw him get all pouty, with a tear coming out of his eye.
"I'm so proud of you bro," he said, and then gave me a guy hug, which he mostly never gave. I didn't know why the heck he was doing all of this.
"...my little brother is growing up," he said and then started laughing at me. I started laughing too, while playfully slugging him in the chest. He was like "haha" and "ouch." That got me laughing do hard, everyone was now looking at our direction as if we were both drinking beer or something.
"So where are you guys going," Juan finally containing himself.
"We're going to Cheddars," I said. I loved eating at Cheddars. It had amazing croissants, an I always ordered the salmon. It was one of my favorite restaurants, since number one was three amigos.
"That's a great choice,"he said, with thumbs up in the air.
"Wear something special, something nice, that'll keep her in her seat the whole night."
That's why he was my bro. He always knew about girls and gave great advice about them. He's had over twenty girlfriends, all ending the same way.
"It's not you, it's me."
His lame excuse to go out with a "sexier" girl. He works them like a charm, always getting. What he wants. I don't like how he's a player, but he treats women fairly when he's dating her.
"Thanks dude," I told him. He was always like an older brother to me, the brother or sibling I never had. I wish when it came to girls I was like him. But with Valerie, I am happy it's me.
"Your welcome anytime."
The rest of the ride was talking about what to do for the date. The date was tomorrow, so I needed to know what to do leading up to the date.
"She said she will drive there, so I wouldn't have to pick her up."
"Well, that's weird since the guy always picked up the girl no matter what."
I did think that was odd, since what he said was partially true. I was going to pick her up, but she said it was fine. I thought that was a bit peculiar, but I didn't want to ask too many questions and seem to want to know everything,
"I know right, but I won't ask why," I said back to him.
"I don't know, that seems weird but she said yes so it doesn't seem too bad."
That was true. All that matters is that she said yes. I was going on a date with the most beautiful girl I had ever met, so it was all turning out fine.
My bus finally, after 20 minutes of planning for the date, entered the school. The bus driver halted the bus, and said on the intercom:
"Kids, class starts in 7 minutes, so I advise you guys to hurry up and get to your lockers quickly."
Everyone on the bus then stood up and panicked. Getting a tardy at our school was a big punishment, after two tardies was a referral on your desk. Everyone thought that was strict, but they didn't want to argue about it.
Me and Juan stood up first, trying to be the first kids in the aisle. We were in the aisle before he finished talking, because we kind of knee what was coming out of his mouth. When he finished, we were at the front of the bus, and off it in 2 seconds. We sped walked very quickly, towards our lockers.
I was opened my locker, moving the lock left and right trying to get the combination correct: when it finally opened after two tries, I stuffed some textbooks in there, and my backpack. I grabbed my notebooks and then turned around. That's when I saw Valerie.
She had all of her notebooks already in her hand and probably was waiting for me the whole time. She was smirking at me.
"So you take this LONG to r at your locker," she laughed, and I couldn't help but smile.
"What you doing here," I asked. I wanted to know why she was waiting for me instead of buzzing into class.
"I wanted to walk to class with you," she said. Now my ears went red, and she noticed them. She laughed and then started motioning for me to walk with her. I followed, and we walked to our classroom. It was mostly quiet, since I didn't know what to say.
That's when it happened. She saw how shy I was around her right now, and she did something I never knew she would think of doing. When were were about to enter class, I was startled as I felt something grab my hand. When I looked down, I saw it.
Her hand was holding my hand tightly, as of she didn't want to let go. Then we walked into the classroom, her hand still holding mine. Everyone was startled to see me holding Valerie's hand. Even Juan was there with his mouth wide open, waiting for a fly to get swallowed in his mouth. I was shocked too. I ten sat in my seat and she went and sat in her seat. Then she did her famous smile again. And a wink. And i couldn't help but wonder:
This is the girl I want to be with no matter what happens to me. I just wish it could happen......
