The Arrangement

Chapter 4

Waking up the next morning, I looked into my vanity mirror staring at my normal miniature fro curls with blonde tips, brown eyes, and glasses. Today was the day I started learning how to run the family business and honestly I knew it was going to be super tiring.
" Robin! We need to get going if you want to learn how to manage the store!" My mom screamed from down stares .
" I'm coming!" I replied while grabbing my jacket and running down stairs.
It was time to head over to Oliver's Goods.

" Robin! Make sure you get those Tv's stacked over there!"

" Okay mom!" I said while looking through my checklist.

" Robin! Make sure you go check on the vendors in there section!"

" Okay!" I spoke while running over to the vendors.

"Robin!"

I slouched at the 500th time my mom called my name.
"Yes...." feeling drained, I attempted to straighten my back.
" You can go take a break love." She said with a smile, I swear she's enjoying this.

I took a lunch break and began to eat from one of the vendors. I knew this was going to be difficult but sheesh.

" Is this seat taken?" I looked up and met eyes with Newell.
" um... no." I slowly remembered the sex drive he had from last night, and felt a bit uncomfortable.
I know I shouldn't judge him but..

" Are you okay?" He said while looking at me with his head tilted.

" Yeah... I'm fine, just a little tired from work." He smirked a little bit and shrugged it off.

" I know that's fun but,"he looked at me and put his head into his hand.
" My bad for my actions last night, honestly I didn't think you'd come. "

" I mean... it's your life I don't really understand why you'd do it."

He slicked his hair back and let a small smile creep on his face.
" I guess you could say I'm quite the demon."

" Demon?" I said with a confused look.
" well I mean demons can be somewhat civilized to."

" You think?" He laughed a bit and put his finger to his lips.
" I guess they can be huh?"

I didn't know quite what to say, the topic was a bit abnormal.

" What would you do if you met one?"
I asked him and with an interested look.
" You brought up demons so I thought you might have an interest in them."

" Demons huh." He laughed aloud and smiled." Well if your talking about me meeting them, I've met plenty. My mother, my sister , my father, their all demonic."

I scrunched my face a bit, it wasn't nice of him to talk about his family like that no matter how cruel.

" What? Was it something I said?"

" Um... No no, I think it's just weird that you speak of your family so cruelly."

He laughed again and looked at me amused.
" Honestly, your rather cute. Kind of sucks that Alex and Daniel won't let me get to know you a little more."

" Wait....what?" I said shocked and taken aback.

"What? I didn't stuttered, but their right, your way to pure for someone like me."

" Well...." I looked away and back at him, maybe it's weird but he has an air of seduction around him.
" I guess they just look out for me, I mean... after what I heard and saw yesterday I wouldn't date you no way."

" You got a point, naively good girl." He licked his lips and smirked.
" I wonder if a guy like me could have you. Maybe it was lust at first sight."

Lust? I thought it was love at first sight not lust.

" Robin." My mom walked up to me and looked at the both of us.
" Um... who's this?" My mom said sternly.

" Oh mom that's Newell, that's a friend of Alex and Daniel."
I saw the two exchange devilish looks at each other.

" Robin let's go, your breaks over."

" Wait mom!" I said while she tugged on my hand to move.

" Well, I guess I'll see you later Robin." Newell said while getting up from the table.

" No you won't!" My mom glared at him and dragged me off into the back room.
What just happened here?
