The Arrangement

Chapter 13

" Finally!" I said loudly as we entered back and into the real world. It's only been 1 day and it feels like it was a week.

" So..." Gin looked down and laughed,"Are you scared of heights?"

" Heights?" I looked down and unconsciously clung to Gin," w-why are we in the air !"

" You'll be fine with me right here." He lifted me into his arms and looked around. Maybe it was my awkwardness but it could also be the fact that I feel a bit dizzy from this height but, I'm feeling a bit queasy.

I closed my eyes and envisioned the ride, I was surprisingly more calm than I thought.

"So, where do you want to go ? Your house or your store?"

" The store, she should be there at this time."

He nodded and landed on the ground nearby.
" It would be awkward for me to enter like this." 
He closed his eyes while his appearance changed.
His attire now changed to a more casual look and his hair now in a low ponytail complimented by his brown eyes and thinker glasses.

" Now we can go."
He lead the way as I followed behind and admired his new appearance.

We walked inside the huge store. I made my way to the back where normally my mom would be around this time.  I know it's only been close to a day but, I feel like I might tear up a bit when I see her.

  I looked over at Gin while he opened the door for me. " Ladies first." He said with a smile.
" Thanks."  I looked over and saw my mother looking over the boxes.
I already knew how this would all turn out.

" Mom... I'm home."

She quickly turned around and ran to me.
"Robin! Are you okay?!"
As Any worried mother would, she wrapped me in her arms and cried. Her grip strengthened and I returned her embrace.

" I'm fine, Gin helped me return."
She looked over at Gin and scowled.

" Woah, woah... why that look towards me?"

" Because I do not trust any of you..."

Gin sighed and moved back a little bit to give us some space. He returned his serious gaze towards my mother and began to speak.
" Regardless if you trust me or not, your daughter has already came in contact with the demons. Even though it technically breaks code, We can meet the hybrid we want as long as we don't let her sign the contract. If you wanted to wait till her birthday to tell her, I'm sure that's not a great idea anymore. "

My mother bit her lip and sighed. The sorrowful expression on her face was more than enough to tell me how she felt at the moment. I feel like she knows what's going on right now.

" I do believe he's right... but... if I do tell her now things will be complicated for us."

"Mom..." I sighed and looked at her while narrowing my eyes to deliver a deadly expression.
" From what I heard...my father was a demon.. so that means that I myself am of demon decent... but they said of holy and demonic decent, which mean your hiding something as well."

" Your right... I never thought it would happen now but I guess now is better than later."  She  begin to walk to the back door and Gin and I followed behind.

" Here should be fine."  She sighed and smiled as she reminisced on her younger life.
" Your father and I aren't mortal... he,as you know, is a demon but I am an angel."

" Angel?"

" Yes, you are considered a nephalem."
At this point... I'm not as shocked at the fact that they aren't mortal, but more of the fact that I had to wait so long to hear this.

" Did you ever consider telling me this earlier?"

" Your father did... and maybe I should have but I felt like it would ruin your innocence, after all you won't be living here anymore when you turn 18.."

My eyes widen but slowly shut to the unexpected words that I heard.

" Let me guess... I'm gonna be in a different realm."

" Yeah... I'm only here because I'm not allowed back into the realm of the Angels..."
I could see the far away look in her eye, somewhat remorseful and sullen.

" Why not?"  I questioned waiting on a response from her but instead, Gin stepped up to answer it for her.

" The new king of the angel realm, rule says no interracial dating. So Angels can only date other angels."

" Okay but why get banned for it?"

" Because I stood against the king and married your father... he banished me to live on earth, your father left his realm to stay with me but he could return..." my mother sighed and looked me dead in the eyes," If you go to the realm of angels, don't take the offer... I honestly don't want you to go alone.."

" I could go with her." Gin spoke up and put his hand on my head.
" I don't believe the demon prince, or princess would be quite welcomed but since I'm a reaper, I can go either way."

" I suppose." My mom looked at him and studied his face.
"Your name is Gin right?"

" Yes ma'am. Why do you ask?"

" Weren't you the reaper who... " she stopped talking mid-sentence," Never mind, I rather not pry but keep my daughter safe."

" I will." He shrugged of the question like it was nothing and looked at me," I guess we can stay a night here, spend sometime with your mom before we leave tomorrow."

" okay... thanks."  I wondered what my mom was gonna ask him but  I don't think right now would be the best time. Maybe when we get home.
