The Arrangement

chapter 20

" If you knew that you would be the one to kill your bestfriend would you do it?"
His eyes were lifeless, as he spoke this statement.
" With knowing the dead comes sacrifice for that of a reaper."

I looked at him as I observed the emotions conflict on his face.
"What do you mean by that?"
I said as I walked behind him.

He looked up slowly at the bottomless sky and sighed. " ...nothing." he shook off the question as he stepped in front of something that looked like a portal. 
"We're going to see Newell and Alex."
He stepped through the portal as he looked deep in thought obvious conflict spreads across his face.

I followed behind him wondering what deep thoughts could he be facing.

   I open my eyes and in an instant, it was as if the place we were at never existed.  I turn to Daniel as he lowers his eyes with a smirk and I followed pursuit realizing the reality of the situation.

"Aaahhhhh!" I cried out trying  to grasp the air, the sudden reality caused me to panic and flail all over the place, but before I knew it warm hands grasped me pulling me close.

"Long time no see." The gentle voice caused my eyes to open and Alex gazed at me lovingly.

"Alex?," I was slightly shocked by the sight of him. "Thank you..." my cheeks blushed as I turned my head away from his eyes

" No problem." I could hear the smile in his voice and I couldn't help but smile harder. " Daniel. You could have warned her before stepping through the portal that she could fall."

Daniel laughed and I glared daggers at him."my bad...," he said in between his hysteria" I would have caught her, I just had to lighten my mood. Forgive me."

I sighed and looked back up at Alex who turns his head away from Daniel to me. He gazes at me then smiles, holding me slightly tighter than before.
I felt safe and forgot my surroundings for the moment.

"Earth to lovebirds." I turned my head quickly to see Newell
Looking dead at me.

"Eek!" My eyes darted back and fourth as I remembered how I just up and ditched Newell.
"Newell I..." His red eyes stared into me.

"Dont worry about it."  He shook his head as if to say don't mind it," Gin is not someone I take lightly so I would have just asked you to go with him anyway. I know he wouldn't hurt you..." Even though he said that he sounded slightly unsure about what he was saying but Daniel broke the silence before it got to awkward.

"Okay... okay, lets go. " Daniel said while lowering himself to the ground beneath us." We have important matters to discuss with our nephalem friend here."  He glanced over at me and turned back to face forward.

" What is it were discussing?" I said in a questioning tone looking between them. Alex as he lowered us down to the ground opened up his mouth to speak.

"We want to give you a run down of each realm from our perpective. We also want to hear after we tell you  what you would like your terms to possibly be."

I looked at him in confusion, " but I thought we couldn't discuss anything until I was 18?" 
Alex put me down to the ground and we all were in front of a random shack.
Newell opened the door to let everyone in and took one last glance outside as if to make sure no ones following us.

"All clear. " Newell said as he took a seat next to Daniel as they all sat across from me. All three boys looked at each other and nodded to each other then Newell finally looked back to me.

" Though we are supposed to wait till your 18, we decided its only fair..." he looked over between Alex and Daniel, "mostly these two, to at least give you an early rundown of each realm, mostly to help your judgement and to make sure you know what your getting into, obviously you see how different each realm is, some worse than others, but we can at least shed more light on suspicious characters and things you may need to know and learn."

I looked at him and nodded before preparing myself to listen to each of there stories.
