As usual it's just like any other day. I wake up, dress myself, eat and go on my way. Today however was a bit different, I finally graduate. All of the seniors have their graduation gowns on, waiting to get their names called by our principal . Parties planned for the senior class and all new expectations are developed.
" Robin Driscoll." My name echoed throughout the stadium and I popped up from my chair then immediately began walking. It was finally time to have this diploma in my hand. The four years of suffering was finally over.
" Congratulations!" Said one of my most annoying teachers but my smile didn't fade,I was finally free.
Name after name continuously called eventually it was over.I stood in the front with the rest of the seniors, waiting for my mother to come see me.
"Congratulations honey!" My mom ran up to me and bear hugged the living life out me, " You did it love!"" Okay...okay!" I said laughing and patting her back " Before I faint, you should let go."
She let go and shook her head,"sorry..sorry, well I'm sure your father's watching you right now."
She smiled widely and as if it was infectious, my face grew a grin as well.
" I know he is."My body lifted from the ground and my eyes met with Alex's. " Hey!"
" What in the world? Alex?! Put me down!"
The six feet tall giant with light brown hazel eyes, light brown hair and peach tannish skin spun me around.
" Come on Robin!"" No! Put me down!" I began to cling to his neck tightly and he finally stopped spinning me. When he put me down I looked around and noticed something out of place.
" Where's Danny?"" Daniel?" Alex scratched his head a bit and began to speak.
" He didn't come. Remember, he didn't get up when his name was called."" Oh... yeah." It was weird not having "Daniel the smartass" here. Daniel,Alex and I, all were like the 3 musketeers since 9th grade.
" Weird isn't it ?" Alex's voice snapped me out of my memory bank and caught my attention.
" Well I planned on going to see him later tonight. If you want to come,I'll come get you on the way?"My face lit up and I jumped into Alex's arms.
" Of course! We have to spend our graduation together."
Without Danny here it felt weird.Alex saying he'd take me to see him however made me feel better, after all this was the first time I got to go to his house." Okay you two say cheese!" My mom became a photographer in that instant and Alex only laughed and went along with it. I couldn't wait to see Danny later that night.
" Finally home!" I said loudly and sprawled onto my bed. Alex didn't exactly give me a definite time when he would pick me up. Hmm honestly, I kind of wanted to meet Alex's family... oh well. I texted Alex and asked what time he was going to come get me.
I picked out some simple clothes and waited for my text back. Now that I think about it, Akiko wasn't there today either... I wonder why.I looked at my phone and Alex had texted back," I'm on my way."
I don't know why but I was just extremely excited for what was yet to come.
