The Arrangement

Chapter 9

I observed myself after getting ready. Gosh, I look so expensive.
" Wow, don't you look stunning." Newell came up to me and grabbed my hand.

" Um, thanks but," I looked around the room once more,"Where the heck are we?"

He adjusted his tie in the mirror and spoke," We're at my house and we're about to go to a ball. You'll see a familiar face or two there."

He held out his arm for me to grab it and I did .

He got closer to my ear and in a deep voice he began to speak," Stay close to me at all times, if you don't I won't be accountable for what might happen to you."

" Oh... okay?" He smiled at my response and began to walk out the door with me in tow.
The hallway was beautiful with the dark decor and more. I wonder why he brought me here though, I'm guessing this date thing was the only reason but that probably means I'll run into those two again.

" We are here." He opened the door and let me in first and the huge ballroom lavishly welcomed me.

" Maybe I should have put on some make up or something..."
I looked up at Newell who only shook his head, " Your a natural beauty, you don't need it."

" T-thanks..." I felt a bit overwhelmed since this was my first party like this.

" Sir Newell, your father has been waiting on your guest."

" I know, just tell him we're coming." The guy bowed his head respectfully and just disappeared.

" Um... I know I keep asking questions but, why did that guy just disappear? What type of sorcery just happened?"

He shook his head and let a tiny smile spread on his face.  
" I guess I didn't explain but at the moment it's best that I don't explain anything. "

I looked into his face as I followed him to wherever we were going and just let it go. We came to a big table where Akiko, a women, and a man sat.

" Newell. I take it this is the girl of the hour?"
He nodded and looked at me.
" This is Robin Driscoll, I'm sure your quite familiar with her father,Oliver Driscoll."

The man looked at me and smiled.
" This is the daughter of Oliver, ah that man. He left us to bind with the holy, but was his choice and so he conceived you."

The man pointed to the seats in front of him," please have a seat. "

We took them and Akiko looked my way and smiled and I returned her with one.

" I wanted to meet with you before the others did, child of both holy and demonic decent.  It seems as though my children have taken a liking to you, and I,who knew your father, would like to come to an agreement. "
He sat up straight into his chair and smiled.
"  Of course you don't have to respond now but I just want you to think about this, I'd like you to sign an arrangement with my son.  He of course has to let you read the Arrangement before hand, but here, you will be taken care of and well treated. However I know your first and second meeting was difficult but I know you'll be fine."

I looked at Newell who looked at me as well. I turned my gaze back to his father and stiffened. I remember Desdemona saying she was apart of an arrangement with Newell. Would that mean I would become his sex slave?
" I'm not sure.... but why is this being asked of me all of a sudden?"

" Well how could I put this..." Newell looked at me as if he was putting his words together.
" You may not believe me but... you are partially of demon decent."

" Demon...decent?"

" Yeah, I told you before I was quite the demon but I guess your to naive to pick up hints, I'm the prince of the demon realm."

I zoned out for a bit... what if what there telling me is true but honestly I can't say it is or isn't. I guess that could explain the superhuman strength that man had from before.
" I don't know about all this... I'm kind of overwhelmed..."

The man in front of me nodded his head.
" I guess that is true, for now you may eat, drink , and party to your hearts content. Newell please be good to her."

Newell nodded to his father and smiled.
" Of course father."

Akiko walked over to me and hugged me.
" Oh I hope you make the Arrangement with Ellie!"

" Ellie?" I looked over at the flustered Newell.

" Honestly," he took one hand slicked his hair back while avoiding eye contact.
" I told you not to call me that Asumi."

I looked between the two. I wondered why he used her last name.

" So are you going to be with us? We could more than likely really become sisters! I'm sure Ellie will become infatuated with you."

" Um.." I looked down at Akiko and patted her head." honestly I'm not sure I want an arrangement with Newell..."

Her eyes grew wide and her face sunk.
" Why?"

" Because she talked to Desdemona." I looked over at Newell and he grabbed my hand and yanked me away from Akiko.

" How did you know I talked to Desdemona?"
He put me in his arms as he began to lead me in a dance.

" She told me...honestly,"he spun me around and I returned to his arms.
" Our arrangement was based off of her wishes, she is a succubus, she cares not if our relations are sexual and it benefits my sexual desire as well. "

Following his lead we continued to dance as we conversed.
" Even so, I've heard your quite the ladies man and heartbreaker. "

" That huh?" He knelt me over and laughed. " I guess if you don't know my story it's to judge but,"
He quickly brought me up where are faces met each other's.
" I don't just do what I do with out reason, Alex and Daniel just met me recently and Akiko was born 4 years after me, I trust no one and no one knows my story so believe them if you want but it will get you no where with me."

I stared into his eyes as he stared into mines.
" Do you believe you could trust me?"

A smile began to spread across his face and he laughed quietly.
" I don't know... I guess we'll see, Robin Driscoll."
