me and josh sat in the front with mariyah and tyler at the back. we turned the music on and house of gold came on. we all sang along and when mariyah did the scream we all laughed.
we made it to the park and we all went and found a tree. mariyah ran to it, being the child she is and hugged it. "this is our tree" she declared.

"yeet" I say sitting in front of it.
we all sat in a circle and just talked and shit.
"soooo... how's life?" I ask.
"sick as frick" tyler replies.
"lovely" josh says grabbing my hand.
"mmm" mariyah mumbles picking at her black nails. she wasn't paying attention.
"your all so dead" I sigh.
"no technology today. we need to act like normal humans and appreciate the world around us" mariyah says.
"yes" I say. josh and tyler were just giggling at each other.

"your both cute" mariyah jokes.
"why thank you" josh smiled.
me and mariyah screamed with laughter, making the boys smile more.
"I love kitchen sink" she says randomly. "so do I" I say.
"me to" tyler says.
"favourite line?" josh asks us.
"nobody thinks what I think" I say.
"a kitchen sink to you is not a kitchen sink to me" mariyah replies.
"it's all good because I sing it" tyler says.

mariyah face palms.
"I love it. it's just amazing" I say.
"same. its so... how do i describe it..."
"good" josh says.
"oh no, it's not. obviously it's good jishwa" mariyah says.
"what's the word?" tyler asks.
"forgot it" she shrugged.
"correct" I say.
"oh!"

"took you long to say correct" josh says.
"correct" she says. then she laughs.

"one of my friends said that she loved the song. a calendar to her is not how we see it. we see it as a a chart or series of pages showing the days, weeks, and months of a particular year, or giving particular seasonal information. whilst with her, every day she marks is another day she's stayed alive" I say
"that's so beautiful" tyler mumbles.
"same with me. expect its sleep. for most people it's when your body is resting through the night. your relaxed and eyes closed. but to me, it's an escape. from the world. I'm in a world of my own and I can do what I want and be what I want and not be judged nor have to suffer. it's an escape from reality" mariyah says quietly.

"behind your sassiness your so deep" josh blurts out.
"I'll take that as a compliment" she says.
"how did we even start talking about kitchen sinks?" tyler wonders.
"me. y'all can thank me" I joke when it wasn't really me who started the convo up about the song.
"thank you lauren" mariyah says like a little kid, repeating what they're teacher says whilst learning things.

"kitchen sinks are shiny" josh says.
"like a spoon" tyler adds.
"tyler have you got a harpoon?" mariyah asks cheekily. he gave her a weird look and she laughed a hard.
"I see a pen and he sees a harpoon. which is a item used to catch fish" mariyah says.
"since when did you know a lot about fish?" I ask confused.
"google told me" she says.
"it's actually pretty nice around here. we should come here more" josh says.
"I agree" I smiled at him.
"you guys are so happy and cute it's unreal!" mariyah says, grinning at us.
"so are you guys" I say. mariyah blushed while tyler smiled.
