(Kurt's POV)
So we've been tour for another week now and Sam has been talking less and less to me. I'm actually flying back for a couple days to celebrate Levi's birthday. Sam didn't want to come, so I flew by myself. I'm really scared for what Sam is going to do while I'm gone. Like a lot can happen in a week... Anyways Levi doesn't know that I was coming to see him! It was a surprise! It was a pretty quick flight! When I got to Toronto Kathryn picked me up from the airport and drove me to my house.
"How's Sam?" She asked
I have too tell her....
"Well he's been acting strange lately..." I said
She put on this confused look
"How strange?" She asked
"Well... He got kinda more rude... And the politeness in him is slowly going away...." I exclaimed
"Strange..." Kathryn replied
"Oh and I think you should know, Sam got a tattoo" I added
"Wait what?! why? He was always against them!" Kathryn exclaimed
"It was very last minute... Cause he never mentioned it. He just got up and left with out telling anyone. He came back to our hotel many hours later and well I insured he would show me." I explained " Its small though"
"I'm gonna talk to him tonight..." She said "I don't know what he's up too..."
Kathryn dropped me off at my house and drove off
"I'll be back for the party, I'm just gonna go pick up my kids from daycare" Kathryn said "Hey and Avi and Mel can't make it today so they'll stop by this week sometime."
"K! See ya!" I told her
She drove off and I enter my house. I tip toe to the sound of Joel screaming happy birthday to Levi! I walk into the room in which Alisha, Madilyn, Kirstin, Joel and Levin were in and they were singing "Happy Birthday" to Levi. They were just about to finish the song
Happy birthday dear Levi!
Then I joined in on the last couple lyrics of the songs
"Happy birthday too you!" I sang
Alisha and the kids all turn around.
"Dad!" Levi screamed
He ran and jumped on top of me
"I missed you!" He told me
Being ten now he spoke in full sentences.
"Hey I missed you too bud" I said to him
Levi was latched on to me, giving me a hug!
"Hey bud I got you a gift!" I said
He was jumping from joy. I open my back pack and pull it out. Its a remote control race car that he's been asking for! Levi jumped from excitement and happiness
"Thank you daddy!" He yelled
I was kneeling so Levi leaned over and gave me a kiss on my cheek. I stood up and looked at Alisha. She was smiling at me. I walked up to her and we share a long kiss
"Ewwwwwww!" Screamed Joel
We both laughed
"I missed you" She whispered while leaning on my shoulder
"I did too pumpkin" I said back
"How's the tour?" She asked
I thought about what to say, it was great! But the recent thing about Sam... Were well unsettling
"Great!" I replied
Alisha smiled at me and then looked back down at the kids
"I'm gonna go take a shower and probably take a nap" I told her
"Go ahead!" She said to me
I haven't been in my house for a while. Noting has changed but it felt so different. Probably cause for the past I wanna say month I've been living in these small hotel rooms with Sam. I took shower and set my alarm to wake me up in one hour. The alarm did its job and I did wake up. I went downstairs to find Kathryn and her kids at our place.
"Come were about to have cake dad!" Joel said to me
He grabbed my hand and pulled me into our dining room. We all sat down and sung happy birthday one more time and Levi blew out his candles.
"What's your wish?" Alisha asked Levi
"My wish is... I want uncle Sam to be here to celebrate with us" Levi explained
Everyone stared at me
"Umm.. He's a little busy" I lied
Yes my kids called Sam there uncle. Sam's kids called me uncle Kurt. But Sam didn't come cause he didn't want to... How would I say that to Levi... Levi loved Sam. I got pretty sad, I looked down. I wanted to be alone right now or at least without the kids.
"Hey look what time it is!" I said pointing to the clock "its past all your bed times!"
Alisha and I put the kids to sleep. We actually had an entire set of beds for Sam's kids at our house! You know in case we need to baby sit them. So we made them sleep too. When they all fell asleep. Kathryn, Alisha and I sat in the living room
"Ok.. So I need to tell someone... But Sam didn't come because well... He just didn't want too" I said
"Sam didn't want to visit his family back here in Toronto?!" Alisha asked confused
"I guess" I replied
Kathryn put this sad expression on her face.
"Hey Kath you wanna spend the night here?" Alisha asked
"Umm.. Ya sure that would be great" she answered
Alisha left the room to go get our guest room ready
"Kurt" Kathryn said to me
I looked at her
"Fix him" she said
I look down and sigh
"I'll try" I say
"Bring back the real Samuel Daniel Evans please" she said
I nod and left the room.
