Echoing screams ignite the dark cave. If you listen closely, you can hear water dripping far out in the distance. The girl next door is losing her voice. You can hear the rasp of an off key "Help..." and the whispered "...please..." It was always this way after the drugs wore off.

The silent girl, rocking in her cage, is the first to be noticed. Maybe if she roared like the rest, she could have avoided the captor. The keys scrape the inside of the rusty lock and the girl cowers in the corner of the small metal box. The cold metal bites her skin. She is surely frost bitten. When the claws make contact with her ankle, brown with her dried blood, she recoils but the captor is stronger. She is hauled out and dragged by the two large male figures on both sides of her. Their grip on her arms pains her. Her body is quaking as they drag her.

She wants to scream but her jaw is locked. Unaware of her movement, her head stiffly shakes back and forth rapidly. Her body is drenched, causing her hair to stick to her face. She closes her eyes and imagines brown eyes. It is the only thing that keeps her sane.

Suddenly, there is the familiar pinch to her neck and searing liquid travels to every limb of her body. Finally, her body goes limp. She shuts her eyes as the darkness overtakes her.
