"I cannot believe he kissed you!" Maria exclaimed after I finished telling all of the girls what happened the night before last. They were more shocked than I was.

We were walking towards the parking lot, past some guys throwing a football in the courtyard, when I caught Jonas running backwards before falling and catching the ball. I smiled a little at his glory and happiness. I never got used to the way his big smile lit up his face. I hadn't seen it in a while so it was extra special.

Deep sultry laughter filled my ears as I was thrown back in time. We were in his room working on a song. Jonas sat at his drum set and I sat on the edge of his bed with a maraca. We attempted Frank Sinatra's "Fly me to the moon".  As the only people in our friend group with musical talents we decided to create a secret band of two and eventually we would surprise everyone and become famous. We were dreaming together. I sang the lyrics well and gave Jonas a show, as I danced around his room while still mastering the maraca.

We laughed and practiced. That weekend we would perform for the talent show. We were young and free. There was no awkwardness. Our relationship was clear and innocent.

"I'd suggest you stop staring and go over there to talk to him." I heard Diana whisper in my ear.

I looked at her with her high blond ponytail and flawless makeup. She reminded me of Gwen Stefani the way she talked and acted.

"I wasn't staring... I was just..." I stammered.

"Admiring. I totally get it. Go talk to him." She pushed me towards that way.

"Honey needs to get laid." I heard Diana saying behind me.

I turned around giving my best glare at all three of them but they were walking away towards the parking lot.

Jonas' olive shirt and khaki shorts were perfect against his newly olive skin. He must've tanned over the weekend. His sun kissed bicep gleamed with sweat as he threw the football back to Caleb, the new surfer dude everyone was obsessing over.

"Jonas!" I called before reaching him. I placed my hand on that bicep that looked so good and smiled up at him. I really did miss this kid.

His lean body turned in my direction. His face was stoic and drained of the charm and joy he held just a second ago.

The wind, ruffling his curls and my long straightened locks, sent chills down my spine. It was suddenly colder than it was suppose to be. I longed for the warmth he always held but for me he only had ice it seemed.

I dropped my pink nailed fingers from his arm and blinked up at him as I tugged my other arm in towards my side. The wind blew his scent towards me but instead of the familiar oak and old spice smell he always had, it was something rich. It was amazing but not him.

His green eyes peered at me. They were blank and gave no hint of emotion.

"Hey, I just wanted to say how awesome you did Friday night! I wasn't able to tell you after the game because I had to leave early but you did amazing as always." I tried to serenade him with my gaze; if it was working I would never know.

"Thank you." He said stiffly before catching the football flying towards us. His biceps flexed as he threw it back and I couldn't help feeling blood rush to my cheeks. I moved in front of him and grabbed his forearm.

"Also I wanted to return your notes you let me borrow for AP Stats." I dug it out of my bag and handed him his notebook. "Your handwriting never ceases to amaze me, by the way." A small laugh escaped my lips and I looked up to see if any hardness left his face but I was left disappointed when his expression was of irritation. He looked down at my hand on his arm and back up at me. He was so cold.

"Anyways, I really wanted to see if you wanted to go to get food later at our favorite vegan restaurant. I have so much to talk to you about from this weekend and I really need my buddies advice on some things, you know?" I smiled up at him, trying to urge him into agreeing.

"You want to talk to me about Alex?" His voice was hard and his eyes were a pond on a rainy day.

"Well yeah actually but—"

"Yeah, don't mind if I'm not jumping at the chance for more exclusives on Americas sweet heart and Americas heart throb." He pulled his arm away and walked towards his friends, still in a very active throwing match.

"Hey!" He called out to them and they turned towards him and sent the ball flying. He would have caught it if he didn't swiftly move out the way, in turn allowing the ball to fly right at my chest, sending me tumbling to the ground.

"Hell!" I yelled. I looked up at 3 guys towering over me. None of which were Jonas. No that face floated behind his friends, trying to suppress a smirk.

"Lina are you okay?!" Tyler, Jonas' best friend asked me.

I ignored him and jumped up, running at Jonas. He turned quickly and caught my arms as they prepared to thunder down on him. "You conniving bastard!" I yelled at him. I tried to jerk my arms away but his hands were cold iron.

"Did the princess hurt herself?" He teased.

"No but the Popper is about to meet his end!" How dare he treat me like this? What's gotten into him? I tug on my arms and when they still don't budge I swing my knee up but it connects with his hard iron knee. "I can't believe you!" I growl trying to fight against this massive wall of a guy.

His chuckle boiled me and tears began to burn my eyes.

"Your suppose to be my friend. I don't even know who you are anymore!"

"You don't have to!" He yelled back at me. He released my arms so quickly that I stumbled back, almost falling once again. "You don't have to know everything, Lina! You can't have everything!"

I stood where I was. He was raising his voice at me and I couldn't believe it.

"You know what, I would do anything for you. I've cared for you, like a boyfriend, I give you all you want, like a boyfriend, yet it's not enough. You chase this guy that doesn't even see the real beauty in you. He doesn't appreciate you like I do. Your stuck in this fantasy world, where the Princess gets the Prince and they live happily ever after but your story's missing one vital part." Humor filled his gaze as he spoke to me and then he leaned close to my ear and whispered, "your little prince is a total ass that doesn't want you."

And at that, he walked off, laughing as he left me there shocked. The two guys in my life were both turning into villains right before my eyes.
