The Gregorio's estate was quite the place for our party. For Luciana, it was a power play to have it at her family's estate and for us it worked out because her place was right in the center of the woods, close to the mountains. A perfect area for us to search for our friend... their idea not mine.

I thought this was completely reckless to go out looking for a girl, that was kidnapped, in the night. We would all have to stay together in order for this to work.

The Gregorio's hosted their big summer gala every year and so everyone knew of the estate fairly well. All the high class parents and their children would attend the Gregorio's event and we would all gather in the courtyard with its well cut bushes, pools, tents, and stoned pavements. So not only was everyone from all local high schools here but even college students came.

The party was in the clearing far back from the estate. It was a bonfire. I hadn't really been there a lot for the planning of this party so I didn't expect the huge fire or rather the party being outside in the first place.

"Lina!"

I turned around swiftly towards the person that called my name. I had been staring into the crowd of dancing bodies, wanting to dance but not wanting to outshine any of the jumping dancers. I turned to see Rachel and Alyssa skipping towards me with the black haired Hayley and the brown haired Jewish Haley in tow.

"Hey guys! You came!" I exclaimed as I hugged them.

"Um everyone from all civilization is here so of course we had to." Alyssa said.

We all laughed and I led them to come sit with me on a bench table.

"You and your friends threw this?" Haley asked hysterically over the blasting music.

"Yeah it was totally their idea. In honor of the missing girl as if she was dead and could be here in spirit." My voice was monotone.

"Was she your friend?" Haley asked.

I shake my head. "Just a girl from my school."

I looked across the sea of people to see a girl with dark bobbed hair being pressed up against a tree trunk by a guy that looked very familiar. When he turned I saw that it was Jonas. I just stared at them, watching the way jonas' hands moved on her body as she stared up at him mesmerized. He was saying something to her and she was giggling as if it was the funniest thing in the world. For the quickest inkling of a second I had imagined myself in her place. But first I wouldn't be giggling because I would've been confident enough in front of him to cackle and two, his hands wouldn't be on me. I remembered last year when me and him had been at Mariano's bonfire and we had danced and laughed all night as best friends. I remember that night my mom had phoned and told me Alex was home visiting and I left the party in a rush of excitement. I never considered how Jonas had felt. But now I had an idea.

Jealousy. Pure jealousy. It wasn't fitting for him. And flirting with a freshman wasn't either.

"Hi Lina." I looked up to see Matt, Alex's and my brothers best friend.

I jumped up and hugged him. "O-m-g! Matty! I can't believe it!"

When I backed away he was smiling his big smile while fixing his glasses. "How's my little sis doing?"

I poked him in his abs and giggled up at him. "She's good but what are you doing here?"

He went to UCLA, I was so confused of why he was here. A lot of times college students came from college to come to our parties because that's how big they were but I never imagined he would.

"I heard Alex was in town. Me and the guys had to see forsure. Everyone's here actually. I saw Melissa pulling in when I got here. All the way from New York! She said she was visiting but she drove a whole 30 minutes from her parents house to come here? To visit? Nah, she wanted to see Alex for sure." He said laughing.
