Once I awoke that morning, I was hoping to find Alex cuddled up beside me; instead I found a vacant space beside me. I asked myself whether it was a dream. It couldn't have been because his masculine rich scent lingered in the room. Was I really doing this with Alex? I dropped back in my bed with a huff. I so was. After my morning dance practice and brushing my teeth, I went downstairs to get my breakfast. I strolled down while pulling my hair into a sweaty ponytail then stepping into an empty kitchen. I grabbed my smoothie bowl Angela prepped for me with the containers of fruit and granola on top of the sealed bowl. Angela left little notes on the containers that always gave me a good start in the morning.
I picked up the pink sticky note that read good morning and my morning quote. Be confident and proud of who you are. Only you can do you best.
I smiled at the note as I walked to my small table in the corner of the room by the large windows that stretched up the wall. The sun leaked out over all the marble and silver in the kitchen and made the room sing it's glory. As I prepared to eat my food, having decorated the top of my smoothie bowl with its toppings, I heard strong and powerful footsteps descending the stairs.
"Mornin' Darlin'." I heard him before he appeared at the bottom of the white wooden steps, shirtless wearing athletic shorts. Veins, protruding on his biceps and lower abs and sweat, gleaming all over his body, soaking his hair, revealed that he had been working out in the gym, upstairs.
Taking refuge from Angela's note, I held my chin up with confidence and grinned as I allowed my eyes to linger on his strong muscular body and then up at his dazzling eyes. They were bright with excitement and the sun's rays.
I breathed a long breath in and urged him to come to me with my eyes. He came and sat in the chair in front me.
"I was starting to think I only dreamed of you being here." I said.
One side of his lips pulled up into a grin. "You dream of me every night?"
"Not every night." After putting a spoon full of my breakfast into my mouth, his hand reached out and pulled the spoon out of my mouth.
He held a mischievous grin as he spooned my smoothie and then put a spoon full into his mouth.
I stared at him, not shocked at all.
"So," he started as he took another spoonful of my breakfast. "What did you think?"
"Think about what?" Not sure what he was referring to. I think a lot about a lot of things.
"Last night?" He looked up at me with a mischievous gleam in his eyes.
"What about it?" I blinked.
"Well you were great. How did it feel for you." He arched an eyebrow and licked the spoon clean.
I rolled my eyes. "Oh stop."
"I have to say, I wasn't expecting that. You get around Ms. Garcia?" His smirk and detective act made me giggle.
"You, mister, need to stop. My virginity is still intact and always has been." I gave a fake glare to him and grabbed my bowl from his hands. I got up and brought the bowl over to the counter, grabbing another spoon, then making my way back upstairs. "Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to go get ready for school." A small smile played at my lips as I left him downstairs. He's lucky he's cute.
Upstairs, I packed my dance bag for practice after school, before I took my shower and dressed in my long white flowy skirt with a matching tank top and gold Christian Louboutin sandals. I wore my hair in a high ponytail and red lipstick because I was feeling hot today.
Before I strolled down the steps once again, fully dressed and ready to go, I smelled sweetness reaching up the stairs. As I walked down, Shelby Lynne's I only want to be with you played loudly throughout the kitchen. A picture of Alexander dancing as he washes the dishes greets me when I enter the kitchen. His back was towards me and a plate of cookies sat on the island behind him. I stood there for a moment, just taking this all in and embracing it. I smiled and skipped over to him, my legs imitating my heart.
My hand caresses his shoulder down to his back as I looked down in front of him, to see him washing the bowl he must've used to mix the cookie batter.
"Enjoying yourself, Mr. Anderson?" I whispered in his ear.
The side of his lips pulled up before he turned around grabbing my waist, soaking my tank top with his wet hands.
Instead of him answering me, he just stared down at me with a smile, swaying to the music. I beamed up at him. His eyes are the only thing I see in my head. I'm thinking of nothing else. He pressed his head to my forehead and his arms embraced me as we continued to dance.
"You're my girl." He whispered. It was so quiet, I could barely hear it.
I nod and count the flecks in his eyes, studying the gold of his irises. My teeth were biting my lip so hard to keep me from grinning so big. Can I have this moment, forever?
He breaks away to spin me around until my backside is pressed to his front. His hands pulled me close to him and his lips trailed down the vein in my neck. It tickled and made me giggle.
He stopped and chuckled. "You ruined it." He nips me and then lets me go to finish the dishes.
I busted into laughter and grabbed a ziplock bag. "Are these vegan?" I asked him.
"Of course."
My smile widened. I grabbed three to put in the ziplock bag then I stored it in my shoulder bag.
"You're the best!" I told him. I came over to him and kissed him on the cheek then left to head to school.
