Back at home, I settled into the kitchen with my homework splayed out on the kitchen island. My favorite cook, Angela, whipped me up my favorite vegan brownies and was working on the fruit salad as she watched the local news. I took a bite of one of the brownies as I concentrated on Anatomy.

"It's so sad what's happening to these girls." I heard Angela saying.

I looked up from my work to the flat screen mounted on the wall.

"Detectives are still looking for the three girls that went missing just three days ago and now a fourth. Sydnie Callahan has been reported missing after her mom dropped her off at band practice just yesterday and when Mrs. Callahan came to pick her daughter up, she found her phone outside the school. Mr. Cable, the band director, reported that Sydnie never came to practice that day and when police searched the school cameras they found that the schools power had gone out at the time of the kidnapping. Police are still on the search for these young girls and the identity of the suspect has yet to be named..."

The reporter with her blond short bob and tight knit clothing gripped the microphone that she was speaking into as she stood in front of a tall school building with red brick and glass double doors. Above the doors read: Orange Jefferson High School. When the picture of the brown haired girl came on the screen I gasped.

"Oh no that's my school! I've seen that girl! She's on our marching band." I stared at the tv in shock. I couldn't believe these kidnappings were so close to home.

Angela just shook her head and slid the bowl of fruit towards me with a small empty bowl and fork. I wasn't hungry anymore. I just stared at the girls picture. She was in her orange and green band uniform smiling. She was a freshman and that was prevalent in her acne covered face and innocent features. She was so young.

"I can't understand how this could happen to such an innocent girl like her. I mean I'm pretty sure she even says hi to me in the hallways from time to time." I was talking to Maria on my phone as I lounged on my bed. It was close to midnight and the only light in my room came from my lamp beside my bed. I was covered in my white duvet with my feet on the wall behind my white wooden head board.

"Maybe we should throw a party, you know to honor her." Maria exclaimed.

"Maria, the girls not dead. She's just missing."

"Yeah but remember, they never found those girls that went missing in the next county over from us. They've been missing for nearly three months now." Maria reminded me. "And now our county! Just three days ago three girls went missing from MJL!"

I shake my head and look out my open window at the forest by the west wing. In the day time the forest was majestic but tonight all was quiet and peaceful. My phone began to vibrate announcing a call coming in and the caller ID showed that it was Alexander. I sat up.

"Alexanders calling me. Maria I have to call you back." I said quickly.

"Okay... call me back. I need details on what he says to you." Maria giggled and I rolled my eyes and clicked over.

"Alexander." I said. I hadn't spoken to him since I stomped off after he completely disrespected me. I still wanted to slap him but I couldn't help but want to kiss him all over again as well.

"Lily, hey. What are you doing right now?" He asked me.

"I'm in bed."

"Okay well can I talk to you for a minute?" His voice was low and strong with the twang of his Aussie accent. There seemed to be no room to say no but I made room.

"I'm sleeping." I run my fingers through my hair and lay back in my bed with a sigh.

"No you're not, you're talking to Maria."

I sat up with a start as I heard his voice coming not only from my phone but from the door. And there he was, in all his glory. He wore black shorts with an unbuttoned dress shirt, revealing the most masculine and strong built body I had ever seen in my life. Every part of him was pure muscle. One of his hands hid in his pocket as the arm leaned against the door, while the other hand held his phone to his ear. I didn't even see the door open through the sheer white curtains that covered my bed.

Slowly, with power and control in each step, he came towards my bed.

"What are you doing?" I asked, it was quiet so I cleared my throat and tried in a stronger tone. "Why are you here?"

My heart was pounding in my chest when he parted the curtains that separated us. "My parents will be here for a few more days." He leaned in towards me, his hands splayed out on my comforter, his weight sinking the mattress down. "So I thought I would stay here, with you all. I don't have class for three days and I needed to spend a little time with my mum."

I looked away from those jewels that were his eyes and tried steadying my breathing. The warmth from his eyes and from his presence enveloped me like warm honey.

"Is that alright with you, dear?" His soft whispers was so steady and so hot against my cheek.

I whipped my head around and glared at him, our noses kissing. I pulled my head back and sucked in a breath. "Well go stay with your mum then. She's in the guest house. Not here."

Instead of him being intimidated by my hostility, it attracted him further. Suddenly he was moving closer and closer towards me and the more close he got, the more I backed away until I was lying right underneath him. I took in a breath ready to ask him what the hell he was doing, when he spoke first.

"Why didn't you ever tell me you wanted me?" His warm breath smelt of familiar chocolate. He must've been eating my brownies.

"You ate my brownies?" Was all I could say.

His face immediately broke into a big grin before he fell over right beside me and burst into his harmonic laughter that I was so accustomed to. It was as if we were kids again and he just got caught stealing out of the cookie jar. With him, if he were ever in trouble he'd just laugh it off.

I sat up and looked down at him. "Alex it's not funny! My God, you always do this. Those were for my lunch tomorrow. I was looking forward to them." I slapped his leg and fell back against my bed. "You're a monster." I groaned as he continued to laugh hysterically.

I pulled my duvet over my head and groaned even louder. "Shut up, Alex!"

At my command he went silent and I peaked over at him to see he was staring at me. "Why didn't you tell me, Lily Pad." He brushed his finger against my cheek and a small smile played at his lips.

I blinked up at the ceiling and stared at it. He has always been that big brother to me and as a kid that was all I saw but as I grew older my heart swelled for him in ways it failed to do with anybody else. I knew this kid since I was born. I knew him better than I knew my own two older brothers. They were always gone. Gone to practices, gone to parties, gone to college, and I was always here. Alex has always been the one constant in my life. And I thought he knew. I assumed he was aware of my love for him. He had to be.

"You knew." I whispered. I quickly turned my head to look him in the eyes. "You can't look me in the eyes and tell me you never knew."

Our eyes were locked, emerald to topaz. There was no way he would lie to me when I saw the answer right through him.

Instead of agreeing with me, he twisted towards me and grabbed my face in his hand, pressing his lips to mine. All the built up tension was unleashed when we kissed this time. I wasn't shocked or confused because I knew he was giving me my answer right now. The one I needed. I needed to let go of all the pent up emotions that were burying me alive. I was so frustrated with my emotions and I let it out on his lips. His hands gripped mine, pinning them above my head as his kiss became deeper and deeper. All the control that I once had was lost in this moment.

He unleashed me.
