When Ophelia woke up — from the short amount of time that she'd managed to sleep — it was late in the morning. She rubbed her eyes tiredly, as she got up and out off bed, and left her cell. She noticed that Daryl wasn't in his perch as she reached the end of the top floor.
As she walked down the stairs the smell of Venison reached her nose and she felt her stomach rumble as she reached the bottom floor of the cell block, which was practically deserted.
The girl looked around her with furrowed brows — most of the group weren't here. Except for Lori, Carol, Carl and Beth.
"Did you sleep well, hun?" Lori asked, as the girl plonked herself down at the small table.
"Fine and dandy." Ophelia lied. "You?"
"Well, it's hard to get a good nights sleep with this little one kicking at me all the time." Lori chuckled, running a hand over her growing bump.
Ophelia offered her a small smile, before she quickly asked, "where the hell is everybody?"
"They left a while ago to clear out the cafeteria." She explained. "They're be back soon."
Ophelia widened her eyes in irritation — why didn't anybody wake her up so that she could help?
"They didn't want to wake you, hun." Lori added, seeing the pissed off look on Ophelia's face. "Daryl — I think it was — said you needed the extra hours."
"He said what now?" She asked in annoyance.
"Don't shoot the messenger." Lori said holding up her hands. "Let me get you some breakfast."
Ophelia shook her head in annoyance, but she didn't say anything else about it — it wasn't exactly Lori's fault so she shouldn't take it out on her.
"Here, get this in you." Lori said, passing her a small plate of Venison.
Ophelia didn't feel like eating breakfast, but she smiled in thanks at Lori, and then ate it anyway. As she ate her venison, Lori and Carol were talking about raising children, and Carl and Beth were playing cards in her cell. Ophelia smirked to herself — Carl had a crush on Beth, and it showed.
After a short while of quiet murmuring, they begun to hear hurried footsteps outside of the cell block. They all exchanged a confused look, before the door slammed open, making Carl spill his cards in surprise.
Maggie and Glenn came rushing in, carrying Hershel in their arms, and led him to their cell. They left a trail of blood behind them, and laid him on one of their beds. Ophelia went to follow, to see what was wrong, but his cell was crowded — Maggie, Glenn, Lori, Carol, Carl and Beth all worriedly surrounded his bedside as his bedsheets became stained red.
