THE NEXT MORNING Ophelia had provided a detailed explanation as to what happened within the woods - to her and the child she'd taken under her wing. After emphasising her inability to keep her safe, everyone had thought it best to leave her alone and so she took the opportunity to take a much needed shower to both cleanse herself and collect her thoughts.

Maggie - a sweet farm girl and the eldest child of Hershel - had provided her with a pile of fresh clothing earlier on, and even offered to put what little she had left into the wash for her. Ophelia had accepted thankfully, and this resulted in the country girl appearing to the farm in a small flannel and jeans - suitable for the heat of which the farm suffered from in the summer.

Ophelia now shuffled swiftly through the farm land of which the Greenes claimed as their own - she noticed a few tents to one side, a small fire smoking grey within the middle, and the RV positioned stilly out in the open. She furthered noticed Dale and Glenn in the midst of conversing, when she decided to go and ask them if they had seen her weapons.

She had almost approached them when she felt something forcefully bombard into her knees, like a catapult - she resisted the physical urge to fall backwards. Blinking, the girl looked below her and was met with a familiar pair of blue eyes staring back at her widely. The girls irritability then faded when she noted that it was simply a sweet, brown haired boy who'd wrapped his arms around her tightly : Carl Grimes.

The young child looked up at her then, smiling happily. His cheeks were chubby and pink, with small freckles covering his face sweetly. A shadow casted over his face though, which made it difficult for Ophelia to fully see his face, but the sherif hat on his head was a little to big for him, so it wasn't surprising to her.

"Hey there, Starshine." The girl smiled. She then bent down so that she was level to him and flicked his hat playfully. "Where'd you get the hat?"

Carl gestured over at his farther, who quietly stood behind him, keeping watch over his son. "Dad gave it to me. He even said I could keep it."

Ophelia nodded in understanding and then asked sympathetically, "how you holding up? I heard all about you getting shot." She then tapped his nose, teasingly. "You do like causing trouble, don't you?"

He giggled. "I'm okay. It doesn't hurt as much anymore - mom still wants me to stay in the bed, though. But, Dad said I needed to get out and about."

"Well, he's not wrong." She shrugged. "Hey, I just need to talk to your dad for a minute, that okay?"

Carl nodded and then he decided to go and pick a few daisy's a little away from her. Ophelia then beckoned over Rick and the country man came over quickly, a friendly smile on his face. "Glad to see you're up and about - Carl's been bugging me for a while to come and see you."
