"Yeah hopefully. Just worry about yourself okay, my life isn't important" I said.

"It is to me. Anyways see you later" Hyo Rin said and walked off.

I walked back home silently just soaking up my surroundings and signing. My step father and I don't have the best relationship. Ever since my mother died after having cancer, he has never been nice to me when I grew up. My only escape was becommingn Outlaw. I met Bren one day when I was around the age of 13 at night. I went to roam the streets of the city alone since my step father was working a night shift. He saved me from a gang of older teenagers who wanted to hurt me. Since then, Bren was like my father to me. Real family. Judy was like a mother to me also which I loved and Valex was like a brother. Bren always took care of me when my step father was out on missions. I finally arrived home and opened the door.

"I'm back" I said walking past the living room and heading to my room.

"Stop right there Chaerin" I heard him say and I stopped in my tracks.

"Where were you? It's past curfew" He said approaching me.

"Why would you care about curfew? You are never there. Plus you never gave me a curfew" I said with a serious tone.

"Don't use that tone on my lady! You would not have food in the fridge and a place to sleep if I was never here! Go to your room before something bad happens" He said pointing the door of my room.

"Ever since mother died you have been a complete jerk! You don't even care if I am living here. You just loved my mother and her last words were for you to take care of me and have custody" I yelled back at him angry.

"Go to your room now!" He yelled and slapped my face.

I left to my room and didn't shed a tear. I don't cry anymore since the first day after my mother died when he hit me. I stayed in my room and changed into my sleepwear. I looked at myself. I have a lot of cuts on my arms. I am desperate in need of having my parents back but I don't shed a tear. I heard my phone beep and I opened it. I had a message from Hyo Rin.

Hyo Rin: Hey, how did it go? Did you fight again?

Me: Yes. We fought again for stupid things. Trying to show a point for giving me a curfew that never existed before. Got hit in the face and well nothing more.

Hyo Rin: What!!! He hit you in the face again?!! You should come live with me seriously.

Me: It's fine. Did you forget I have been living with that for seven years alone with him. I can handle myself. Just bring me the ointment tomorrow and bring your makeup to hide my face. Meet me at my place.

Hyo Rin: Did he hit you that badly?! And sure ointments with bandages for the arms I am guessing. Please don't add more to your wounds.

Me: I won't. I just want them to heal quicker...

Hyo Rin and I texted until it was about 12 am and she left to go to sleep. I texted Valex for a bit and he helped me a bit with how to improve my situation and I got a call from Bren. I answered him and kept my voice down so my step father couldn't hear me and wake up.

"Hello" I said.

"Chaerin. I know you don't like being called that but this is getting serious. You have to leave that house" He told me.

"I can't. You know this. My mother's last words were for him to take care of me. At the same time I can't leave. He could track me down" I said.

"You could live at my place. You know my door is always opened for you. Plus, I don't think he could track you down easily since you are a hacker. Remember?" He told me.

"Point taken. You are right about that but eventually he would find out" I added.

"Seriously, if you end up in the hospital because of him he won't be getting out of the hospital himself" He added seriously.

"I know. Thank you Bren" I added reassuringly.

We talked until it was around 2 am. I went to sleep eventually since I had school today and it started at 8 am.

~Time skip to 8 am at school~

I get to school with Hyo Rin and go hide into the bathroom with her. She closes the door and locks it behind us.

"Here" She hands me the ointment and I put it on my arms.

"Thanks" I said.

"Let me help you put the bandages on you, because when you do it yourself, they always end up falling" She said.

"Alright" I said as I handed her the bandages.

"I just wish that you would stay with me because I don't like him hurting you" She said while putting the bandages.

"It's not my fault. Don't worry to much" I said and smiled.

"I care about you, for sure I worry. Plus the only person you ever let them touch you friendly is me. I don't know if it's because of your step father you hate having physical contact or if it's because you just hate it, but I know I am one of the rare people you trust and I cherish that" She said looking at me.

"Thank you" That were the two simplest words that were able to come out of my mouth.

Hyo Rin finished patching me up and I put my clothes back on and left with her to go to class. We met up with a couple of our friends before class started and when the bell rang, we went to our seats and waited for the teacher.
