TWENTY SIX

~Chaerin's pov~

"I'll sleep on the couch this time so you can actually have a good nights sleep" I tell Changkyun.

"You don't have to. You can take your bed and I'll sleep on the couch" He says back.

"But I owe you for today" I reply.

"You can repay me some other time. Don't forget I'm not the one who is also wounded" Changkyun says while pointing at my hand and at my shoulder.

He was right. If I didn't sleep in my bed, I would be in pain and wouldn't get an ounce of sleep. I decided not to argue with him and go get some painkillers and then go to sleep. I wake up the next day feeling a bit better. Hyo Rin and Baekhyun were in bed so I decided to get up and look around. I go to the kitchen but they aren't there. I go to see if Changkyun is still on the couch and see him playing on his phone.

"Where is Hyo Rin and Baekhyun?" I asked him.

"Well goodmorning. They both went to go get food since no one wanted to cook this morning" Changkyun replies to me.

"Oh. I guess I'll watch a bit of t.v for now then" I say turning on the t.v and sitting on the floor.

While Changkyun and I wait for Hyo Rin and Baekhyun, I get a text from Bren saying that in about a week, we have a big mission to do. Every member in Masked Halos has gotten their message but every leader has their personnal group and get most of the classified information for the missions. I texted hi back asking if I had to bring anything specific or prepare physically ad mentally and he said yes. This is the biggest mission that the Masked Halos had and there was a fifty/ fifty chance that I could end up hospitalized or even dead.

Rin: Basically I have half of a hundred of a chance to survive?

Bren: Yes. It was never supposed to end up like this but we seriously have no chance.

Rin: I have a huge favor to ask you...

Bren: Depends what it is. Better not be getting me into jail before this mission.

Rin: I'm only asking this once, put Hyo Rin in the base with the other hackers out of danger in our hide-out. I don't want her in battle.

Bren: Why are you asking me this?

Rin: Did you forget she is in this mess because of me? You clearly said there is a fifty/ fifty chance in surviving this. Putting her in the hide-out monitoring and helping from A hackers view gives her a hundred percent chance in surviving. I don't want her to risk her life because of me. If this is my last battle, I don't want her to see me die.

Bren: ... I get what you mean. What if she insists though?

Rin: Tell her it's the orders of the big boss himself. She might get pissed at you but promise me this please.

Bren: Fine. I'm doing this for you so be grateful.

Rin: Thank you. One more thing, I have no idea if she is bringing Baekhyun and inviting Changkyun in this, so if they show up you know why. Just don't put them in battle either.

"Who are you texting?" Changkyun said catching me by surprise and me closing my phone quickly.

"I was texting Bren. He was asking me what was new" I lied.

"Did you tell him about your hand being damaged?" He asked.

" No... I'm not going to make him worry for such nonsence. I also am healing quickly, kind of.." I reply back to him.

Hyo Rin and Baekhyun finally arrived in time before Changkyun would question me so I was releaved. The brought food at the livingroom table and they gave us our plates.

"Since we start classes again tomorrow, I thought we could eat together and just watch movies" Hyo Rin suggests.

"Did you even ask them if they can? Maybe they are busy you know" I reply to her.

"I already planned on staying here with Hyo Rin, so Changkyun is the one you should look at" Baekhyun says pointing at Changkyun.

"Well, if I go back home, there will be nothing to do and it will be boring, so I'll stay" He says as he takes a bite of his food.

We end up watching a horror movie because we didn't want to watch some romance or whatever. Finally around midnight, the guys left and I was alone with Hyo Rin.

"Hyo Rin" I said.

"Yeah what's up?" She asked me.

"We have a mission in a week. It's a big one" I told her.

"Is that why you waited for the guys to leave?" She asked me.

"Yes. But if you want to invite them in this, I'm not taking responsibility of them" I said.

"Well I'm not taking responsibility of Changkyun, you will" Hyo Rin said and I glared at her unamused.

"I'm not inviting him in my missions Hyo Rin because I don't need people to protect me unlike you at times. So I won't be taking care of him or having the responsibilty of keeping him safe" I snap back at her.

"You know he stayed with you the whole time when you passed out due to the amount of blood you lost when Jess stabbed you with scissors right!" She yells at me.

"I never asked him to do that! Maybe he just felt bad for being the reason Jess stabbed me! What does this have to do with the mission?" I yell back.

"If you could just admit that you like him everything would go smoother for the both of us!" Hyo Rin said.

"You don't even know if I like him! You know what, I'm done with you right now. I'm leaving" I replied and took my phone and jacket.

I stormed out of the dorm still hearing Hyo Rin yelling at me to come back but I completely ignored her and left to Jodan's dorm room.
