The next morning I met Rayvan in the training arena. Rayvan was already there and sweaty wearing nothing but a pair of black sweat pants. His muscles gleamed underneath the dim lights.
"You going to sit there and stare all day or are we going to spar?" He said in his smooth voice pulling me out of my thoughts.
I sent him a glare. Too embarrassed to say anything. A blush spread across my face. Rayvan smirked in return. I was regretting this already. "Let's get this over with." He said as he crouched into a fighting stance.
I tried to match his smirk. "I will kick..." I was cut off as I was suddenly flying across the room.
"You were saying?" Rayvan said dusting his hands, as if he had never moved.
I stood up and ran to him just as I neared him I jumped in the Air and readied my fist. Which never connected. Instead Rayvan grabbed my forearm and slammed me down to the ground.
I gasped in pain.
"What did you think I was going to take too easy on you?" He began to walk along my body.
I curled up into the fetal position. "You're pathetic. princess? Where is this speed and strength I witnessed the other day? You could never save anyone."
The doors slid open. "enough Rayvan, leave her alone." It was Angel, there to save me as usual.
His arms were scooping me up. "She needs our protection. She is not to be harmed by the likes of you."
"No Angel I asked for this. I want him to train me." I struggled out of Angels arms trying to stand on my own. "Rayvan is right. I am being weak and pathetic. I need to become stronger. We have to win. I have strength that I did not think I had, and Rayven is the only one who can help me learn to control it." I looked pleadingly into Angels eyes.
"What was wrong with you training with me?" He argued.
"Because you take it easy on me!" I yelled back, getting frustrated.
"Awe lovers quarrel how quint. I am going to head to breakfast while you two work things out. I will be back here same time tomorrow, if your man says yes. Or maybe he is worried I might steal you away." Rayvan sneered and walked out. Leaving Angel and me to their argument.
"Angel in the end you are in no position to dictate what I do, and I plan on training with him. He is stronger than you, and I need someone who is going to push me. I need him right now." I saw pain flash in his eyes for a moment. I knew it must kill him, that I was choosing Rayven over him, but Rayven was who I needed right now. "He will push me harder then you will, and I don't want to hurt you." I almost whisper the last part and looked at my feet which suddenly seemed a lot easier to look at then him.
I could feel his glare. "Fine whatever, if that's what you want your highness. He is not to be trusted. He might be helping us, but his intentions or why he has agreed has yet to show. He could try to kill you the moment you gain control of the throne. Just please promise me you will wait tell I get here next time?" He finally said rubbing the back of his neck.
I let out a long breath, and nodded my head. "Okay Angel if that makes you feel better." Deep down I did not feel like Rayvan would truly harm me. But if Angel felt better about it, then I would do it for him. I owed him that much. I know he loved me, and only wanted the best for me. I headed to the showers.

I could not understand why she wanted to be trained by him. The way he had just hit her, it was not right. Then he had been taunting her, so... so cruelly. I clenched and unclenched my hands. He was stronger than me yeah sure, but I was still stronger than her. I just knew how to control it better. Or at least cared about controlling it, unlike Rayven. That bastard. I slammed my fist into the wall denting it. Then, mentally cursed myself for being careless.
