After we ate I went took a shower, grabbed my tablet and sat down to read about battles won by small force of troops against a massive army. There had to be some sort of tactics that would allow us to win. Rayven had already started on training troops. He never seemed to stop training. It was probably the only thing he really knew how to do.
I sighed and sat my tablet down. It was hard to concentrate on reading right now. It seemed like there were so many thoughts swirling around in my mind. I had no idea what to do.
I crawled off my bed and decided to seek out Avril. I was already told by everyone not to tell her that she was being investigated. They did not tell me not to talk to her though. Which is what I wanted to do.
When I reached her room, I knocked. I heard her move around then, she opened the door. She smiled when she saw me, but she seemed kind of off. Like it was faked.
"Hey Av, how are you doing?" I asked softly, lowering my eyes. My chest felt tight all of a sudden. The argument about whether Avril was the traitor or not replaying through my mind. She is not a traitor. She can't be I tried to assure myself.
"Hey, I am okay, just tired that's all." She rubbed her eyes. Then she stepped aside to allow me to come in. "Hey I heard about you and Rayven getting in trouble. You guys took off?"
I smiled remembering our picnic. "Yeah he took me to spot and we had a picnic. He said it was for training, but we did not train as much as relax near a water fall and ate."
"Sounds like you had a good time?" She said a snarky voice.
I looked up surprised. Was she jealous. Maybe just annoyed we did not invite her. I shrugged it off. My mind still conflicted whether I should tell her about her being suspected or not.
"I also heard you had a meeting. Why was I not invited? What is going on?"
I set my jaw deciding it was best to let her know. "Listen Avril I need to tell you something. It might be best if you sit down."
"I would rather stand." She said narrowing her eyes.
"Your being investigated. They believe that you might be the traitor. Which I know you're not, so just bare with it for now tell you are proven innocent okay." I said in a rush, wincing, as I feared her reaction.
"I am what? Why those idiots. They don't know anything. How dare they suspect me. What I have I even done?" She asked me her jaw clenching.
"You're the last person on the list. Everyone has been investigated so far but you." I said, unable to meet her eyes.
"Whatever Ash... I need to be alone for a bit. Just know I have done everything I thought was right. I don't want to see you get hurt." She said looking away from me. Her hand went limp at her sides.
I touched her shoulder. "I know Av." And left.
Walking out I ran into Rayven. His hard chest hurting my nose. I rubbed it and glared at him.
"Watch where you going princess." He smirked at me.
"Hey you jerk, if you saw me then you should have moved or said something." I took deep breaths trying to calm my anger.
"We need to talk." He stated simply, and turned around walking towards his room.
"A little presumptive aren't you. Just expecting me to follow you?" I glowered at him.
He turned slightly. "Yes." Then he turned back and continued walking.
I gritted my teeth but followed. I was still angry that he was causing my friend to suffer so much. He never seemed to show any concern for anybody else's welfare. It was infuriating.
