It was another boring chapter in 18-year-old Gerard Way's life. He sat by his bedroom window, contemplating life.
"F*** life," he said softly.
He muttered other things to himself as he got his sketchpad, which held all the darkest secrets that he never told a single person, not even his best friend, the guitar king, Ray Toro.
The reason of Gerard's depression was the death of his grandmother, who taught him every single thing he knows.
He wasn't the only guy with secrets. His brother, Mikey, kept a lot too. Like having a boyfriend named Pete. At 16. Mikey didn't know that Gerard knows he has a boyfriend, so whenever Pete called Mikey, he rushed away. For fun, Gerard made a sketch about that.
He picked out his favorite pencil set, all full of the color black. According to him, this is his favorite pencil set because it reflects his heart and soul.
He began sketching a scenery of himself turned away, his hands chained, and insults floating around him.
"Another sketch in my life."
He saw a flicker of light outside his window. More like fire. Someone screamed, "S***! The lawn!"
Gerard smiled a bit, but then his mind clouded with thoughts once more. He wanted to tell his mother, but no, he is a stranger to her. With his new red hair, there is no way she'll accept him in their household.
He wanted to tell his brother Mikey, but Mikey told Gerard he was a loser because of being so emo and stuff. Gerard swore at him, and then hr never spoke to him ever again, even after Mikey's many attempts of saying sorry.
Gerard finished his sketch, then quickly tossed his sketchpad on his bed, which landed with a satisfied, SLAP beside Mikey's earphones which he hasn't returned in weeks.
He looked at his dark room, then went to his bed and slept.

"Gerard.".
There was a timid knock on Gerard's door.
"Go away, Mikey F****** Way."
Silence.
"I-I'm sorry brother. For last time."
It was Gerard's turn to be silent.
"Mikey, I tell you. Go. Away."

Mikey's POV

Mikey didn't go away, though.
He just stood there in front of his brother's door and waited. 'I know I can get him out. I know it,' he kept telling himself.
"Brother, I-" Mikey began to say.
"MIKEY JUST F****** LEAVE ME ALONE!"
Mikey then had an idea which made him almost smile. "Gerard, I will drink your coffee if you don't come out."
Gerard came out of his bedroom and rushed to the dining area, shoving his brother a little.
Mikey laughed a bit, then he went inside his brother's room to retrieve his earphones.

"Earphones, earphones, where the hell are you..I need to talk to Pete Wentz..." Mikey muttered to himself. "Earphones..God why is Gerard's room so clean but I can't find my earphones...ah it's here-"
"MIKEY F****** WAY WHERE IS THE COFFEE AND WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING IN MY BEDROOM."
Mikey slowly turned to see his brother looming over him with a grumpy face. He was more surprised to see his brother with another hair color.
"Another hair color, I see," Mikey said, laughing shakily.
Gerard continued glaring at his brother. He grabbed Mikey's earphones. Before Mikey could say another room, Mikey was shoved out of his brother's bedroom.
Then the horror came to life.
"MIKEY? IS IT YOU? PETE WENTZ HERE."
Mikey quicky whispered. "Pete, not so loud. Brother might hear you!"
"THAT AMERICAN PSYCHO? PFFT. THAT GUY WILL NEVER HURT AN AMERICAN BEAUTY LIKE YOU."
"Oh SHUT THE F*** UP PETE WENTZ! YOU ARE THE AMERICAN PSYCHO!" Mikey screamed back.
"AND NOW YOU ARE DEFENDING YOUR BROTHER? AGAINST YOUR BOYFRIEND? MIKEY, REMEMBER. I AM YOUR BOYFRIEND! PETE WENTZ!"
"Who has a boyfriend named Pete Wentz?"
Mikey slowly turned to the voice. It was Donna Lee, their mother, tapping her foot on the floor.
"Gerard. Out of the room. Mikey. Stay there."
Gerard slowly went outside his room and stood beside Mikey.
"We already talked about having boyfriends, right? Now let me know, who is Pete Wentz-?"
"MIKEY WAY WHERE ARE YOU? STILL IN THE LINE? BRO! HONEY! SWEETHEART! BABY??"
Mikey's face flushed with the color red. Donna Lee made a stern face. "It's you."
"M-mother, let me explain-" Mikey stuttered.
"YOU SAID PETE WAS YOUR BEST FRIEND!"
"H-he is-" Mikey wished he never said that.
"WAIT. WE ARE JUST BEST FRIENDS?! MIKEY WAY, WE ARE BREAKING UP." Pete Wentz shouted through Mikey's phone.
"NO! Pete, I mean-" Pete ended the call. Mikey stared at his phone and threw it away. "Whatever. I am outta here." Mikey walked away and shut the door behind him.
"Gerard."
Gerard looked at his mother. "What."
"Nice hair."
Gerard gave his mother a look and went back inside his room.

Gee's POV.

Those were only the rare sparks in his life. Where his brother was being made a fool, when people tease Ray because of the afro hair, blah blah blah. In short, his sparks in his life are when people are teasing other people. It is because Gerard thinks that they are getting a hint of his lifestyle.
'There's nothing wrong with just a taste of what you've paid for.'
He heard his brother sobbing in his room next to his. Gerard decided to talk to his brother. After all, he has been harsh to him.
"Mikey."
Silence.
"Mikey, I-I'm sorry. For everything. I'm sorry about Pete."
"It's, well, okay brother." Mikey said quietly.
Gerard opened a little window that outlooked Mikey's room. Gerard and Mikey made that so that they can communicate and give stuff to each other when they are grounded or something.
Gerard slid in Mikey's earphones. Mikey looked at it, but didn't pick it up. "Too much too late, Gerard."
Gerard knew this. "Sorry."
Silence filled the two Way brothers once again. Suddenly, there was a big explosion.
Gerard and Mikey looked at each other. Only two words were understood: RUN. NOW!
