I had been at the party for two hours now, and everyone had been nice, saying that I could come around even when Austin was away at school. Of course we didn't tell anyone I was pregnant though. I read earlier that you shouldn't really tell anyone that you're pregnant until after the third month because that's the safe point for your baby. (You had a higher percentage of miscarrying it up until that point.)
I had been mingling with both Austin's and my friends while he was busy talking to everyone. I wanted him to enjoy hisself and spend as much time with friends and family as he could. I had snuck away long enough from our friends to use the bathroom, but when I opened the door, I found Austin waiting for me.
"Come here, baby." He whispered to me as the door shut behind me.
He held his arms open wide for a hug as he stood in front of the sink.
"Hi, I didn't expect you in here." I said before a giggle.
I hugged him tight and in his big bathroom, he picked me up and sat me on the sink. He kept hold of me so I didn't fall backwards into the sink.
I wrapped my legs around him and he slid his hands up my skirt and under my bum. I bit his lip as we kept making out and then we heard the door open. We didn't know how to react so we froze as we were. In came Austin's best friend, Lucas of course.
He burst out laughing. "I'm sorry--is this the make-out room now Aust?"
I rolled my eyes and smiled as Austin helped me down off the sink.
"No um, thanks for not knocking and just barging in man." Austin replied.
"Yeah no problem. Sorry though but your parents are looking for you." Lucas said as he backed out of the bathroom.
"What's up?" Austin asked.
"Surprise man. I don't know." Lucas shrugged.
"C'mon Paige. Did you need the restroom or something man?" Austin asked.
"Nope, was searching for you." Lucas replied.
"Well then let's go see the surprise." Austin said, grabbing my hand and leading me out of the bathroom.
...
"All gathered here today, I now present you with...the cutest little thing ever." Austin's mom said excitedly.
We all gathered around her as she looked down into a big bag. She handed it to Austin. A bunch of awes we're said from his relatives as he pulled it out from the bag. It was his baby blanket.
"Adorable." Lucas added.
I bit my lip. Did his mom find out?
"What's this for exactly mom?" Austin asked.
"Honey, you've just grown up so fast, I wanted to give you this for you when you're much older, and you've married the one you love and have had a kid. I just want you to appreciate your life hun. Don't take anything for granted and just... Take one step at a time." His mom said.
"Thanks then, Mom and Dad." Austin replied with a smile.
He covered his lap with the blanket and I giggled as he then started opening other presents his guests had brought him. He liked each present and then he got to my present for him. I was nervous to watch him open it. Would he really like it? I know I would.
After unwrapping my present for him, Austin saw the memories of ours laid out in front of him. The scrap book was filled with pictures we had taken through out our whole relationship. At first he just looked at it. I felt bad, because since he hadn't said or done anything my first thought was that I embarrassed him.
"Paige, it's awesome. I love it." He said before kissing my cheek.
"You sure? It took you a little while to show any emotions." I joked.
"Yes, pictures of us will be good to have when I'm gone away." He said, grabbing my hand. He stared into my eyes and I smiled back at him long enough for his mom to flash a picture of us.
Of course, everything has to be Facebook official right? Then it was time for Lucas' present to Austin to be opened. Lucas always gave him a crazy gag gift. Wonder what it will be this year...
Well, Lucas really outdid himself this year. Austin got a new calendar for his "schoolyear" and you know how nasty and perverted guys are. Also, he received some protection if ya know what I mean. Which kinda ticked me off. He was going away, why would he need condoms?
Austin just laughed like crazy.
"For if you get lonely." Lucas replied.
I just pressed my lips together hard and looked out the window. Austin didn't notice obviously though because he went to open the calendar and started flipping through it.
When the party ended we stayed back to watch a movie with Austin's family. Austin's mom decided that we should watch "What to Expect when Expecting"... Or something like that. Everything was just starting to feel uncomfortable to me. Austin had made me lay down beside him on the couch so we could cuddle.
He laid behind me and I laid back in between his legs with my head rested on his chest. During a funny part of the movie we all busted out laughing. His family was so loud. It was funny and he wrapped his strong arms tight around me as we laughed. I loved him. Despite the dumb calendar gift and the little problems our relationship had in the past, I wanted this to last even though he was going away to college.
