One year later...
As we laid on the couch in our apartment, he rubbed my belly. He sat behind me as I laid back between his legs by the crackling fire. That fire place was the best part of our new place together. Our apartment was a small, two bed room one but that was okay. We slept together anyway, obviously. I mean, how else would I have gotten pregnant?
"I love you, Mrs. Cooper." Austin said before kissing my forehead.
He loved saying that. We had gotten married half a year after he got out of the hospital. Luckily, he healed perfectly fine with just scars to prove his strength in overcoming the accident.
"I love you, Mr. Cooper." I replied before turning my head and kissing Austin's cheek. I rested my hands over his and prayed that our baby would be healthy..
"I feel the baby kicking." Austin said excitedly. I rubbed my hands over his.
"He knows his daddy is right here with him." I said, turning my head to look in Austin's eyes.
He rested his chin on my shoulder and then leaned in and gave me a slow, passionate kiss. I felt butterflies in my tummy and my heart.
"He knows his mommy is too." Austin said, smiling bigger. He leaned down farther and lifted my shirt up to kiss my tummy.
"That feels so good." I said, resting my head back on the arm of the couch.
"I can't wait until he's here. He'll be a daddy's boy." Austin said before going down to kiss my tummy again.
"Um, no. I think the term is originally mommy's boy for a reason." I said with a smile.
"He will love you because he came from you and he'll love me because he also came from me. You know, we need to start thinking of more names." He replied.
"Well, if the baby was a girl we already discussed she'd be named after me so..." I replied, smiling down at him.
"Maybe we'll name him Kicker." Austin joked, rubbing my belly as the baby kicked again.
I giggled and shook my head no. "Baby, will you go get me frozen yogurt?" I begged.
Austin smiled up at me before leaning down to kiss my belly again.
"I'm going to get your mommy some yogurt." He whispered to my belly.
Then he kissed me before leaving the room. "It's in the freezer!" I shouted over my shoulder. After Austin entered the kitchen he heard the phone ring. He sat the yogurt on the counter and then answered the phone.
Great...how would he tell Paige this news? He wondered, let down by the phone call. Here came another bad happening of a hospital visit.
To be continued....
