It's time to let it all go, go out and start again. It's not that easy.
- Kodaline (In A Perfect World)
Finally. I am back here in the Philippines. I smiled as I was greeted in by the warm atmosphere and the smiles of the staff in the airline. Quickly I scanned for the faces of my godparents.
And I finally found them with a little bond paper with a "Welcome back Edward". I smiled as I saw their familiar faces, and it was like the kid in me had lived once more.
All the giddiness came back like it was just yesterday that I had met the most precious godparents anyone could have.
"Edward!" Ninang quickly tackled me in a hug and ninong was just there having a little laugh at what he is seeing.
"Kamusta byahe?" Ninong quickly asked as ninang broke free from our hug. "It's fine, I got to catch a little hours of nap." I said as I shook his hand.
"Kamusta na sila mama mo?" Inquired ninang as we walked in a nearby food stall. "They are fine, but they are quite disappointed that they can't come home this year." I said as they called a waiter to order some food.
"Wait lang Ed ha? May bibilhin lang kami saglit and kailangan ni tito mo gumamit ng comfort room. Dito ka na muna." Ninang told me as she and ninong left me there and soon came the food they have ordered for us.
"Okay po." I said curtly and smiled.
I yawned as I felt the sleepiness, so I looked around and saw a familiar looking girl walking at the entrance of the food stall.
Wait. I have seen her before.
As I was trying to remember where I have seen her, she turned and met my gaze.
My heart skipped a beat. And it was as if the world stopped. What the hell is happening? I saw recognition in her eyes. Then she walked towards me and said, "Edward?"
"Wait. Kisses?" I asked finally making sense of what is happening.
She quickly smiled at me and sat across me.
"It has been awhile." She said making small talk as if we have really close for a very long time. "Yeah it has been. It was really tough looking for a day off from my schedule." I said as I move my seat a little more close to the table.
"Oh. It is good that you finally found a day off, after all it is essential for anybody." She said and settled her elbows on the table.
"How is life in America?" She asked as she combed her long locks with her fingers.
"Well living in America is quite difficult." I confessed. "I have been trying to earn myself money through freelance photography." I said and just with that her face lit up.
"Photography?" She asked with enthusiasm.
Gosh. She looks like a little kid. I thought to myself and chuckled.
"Yes. Photography." I said with a smile.
"Can you show me a little of your shots? I am in dire need for an inspiration." She said and finally took a chicken wing from the plate infront of us.
"Sure thing. Mom told me you do write, mind letting me read them?" I said as I too took a chicken.
"Hmm. Well, sure. As long as you give me a constructive criticism." She said and ate away the food on our table.
She is like a kid, but seeing her with such spirits then maybe living with them for a month would really do me some good.
