After spending a few days at home, I was suddenly awoken early one morning to three knocks on my door. Still half asleep, I stumbled to answer it, still in my pajamas.

"Morning (y/n)," a familiar voice greeted me as I answered the door. I rubbed my eyes and Gladion came into my field of vision, a small smirk on his rosy lips.

"Gh.. why do early?" I asked with a slight tone of anger in my voice.

"Calm down, calm down," he consoled me. "Can I come in?"

"Yeah, I guess," I muttered as I stepped out of his way. He walked in and sat dow at one of the kitchen stools, I sitting at the one next to it.

"So, I bought us some boat tickets to Sinnoh," he explained. "I figured we should go there to at least release your little Shaymin back to its home. Also, I want to go do some research on the legendary Giratina, as it could possess some connection to the ultra wormholes."

"Yeah, sounds good," I stated with a faint smile as I whipped up two cups of Tapu Cocoa.

"You don't sound too excited," he nagged.

"Well, you did just show up at my house unannounced at 5 am," I giggled as I slid him one of the mugs. "What time do we leave?"

"Two hours," he responded bluntly.

"WHAT?!" I yelled, nearly spitting cocoa all over the place. "I have to pack, talk to Kukui, and say goodbye to everyone!"

"You also might want to change out of those pajamas," he exclaimed smugly. "You don't have to put anything else on. You can just take them off-"

"This is not the time for you to be pervy," I yelled. My mom suddenly walked in from her bedroom, a warm smile on her face.

"Alola, Gladion and (y/n)!" She exclaimed gleefully. "What are you both doing up this early?"

"Mom," I called, "Gladion and I are going to go to Sinnoh for a few weeks. We leave in a couple hours, so I have to go pack all of my things and get ready."

"Oh, how fun! Be sure to call though," she smiled. "If you'd like, I'll talk to Kukui and Hau for you so that you can have time to get ready."

"Thanks mom," I grinned as I walked over and gave the woman a tight hug. "I'm gonna miss you, but I'll talk to you every day."

"Alright, (y/n)."

"Now," I exclaimed as I turned to Gladion, grabbing him by the hood on his hoodie. "You're coming to help me pack."

"Ugh, you're such a pushover sometimes," he muttered.

"Says you."

"Whatever," he scoffed. I gathered all of my clothes and belongings into one suitcase, changing into my regular clothing. I bode my final farewell to my mom, and Gladion and I walked together to the Hau'oli City marina in the fresh morning sun.

"What's Sinnoh even like?" I asked curiously as we stood at the dock, waiting for our boat to arrive.

"Cold," he stated bluntly. "Especially in the mountains."

"Wow, glad I own a coat," I retorted sarcastically.

"Don't worry too much," he reassured me as he placed his hand on my head. "It seems like a place you'd like."

The boat pulled up to the marina, and we sat next to each other on a bench inside. Sleep deprived, I found myself groggily resting my head on Gladion's shoulder. He wrapped his arm around me after a while, and I slowly began to drift off just as our boat drifted to sea.

---

"Now arriving at Canalave City," a female voice called over the speaker. I jolted awake, quickly throwing myself over Gladion to peer out the circular window. A port city not too different from the ones back in Kanto stood outside of it, seemingly teeming with people. I let out an excited laugh, turning to Gladion-- who was flustered out of his mind.

"We're here!" I yelled (a little too loudly) in excitement.

"Get off of me," he ordered, his face as red as a Bounsweet. We both climbed off of the boat together, Taking in the fresh Sinnoh air.

"This place is a little dreary compared to Alola," I stated bluntly.

"We're not staying in this city, don't worry," he explained. "We've actually got a hotel room booked in Hearthome."

"One room?" I asked in shock.

"Don't act so surprised," he growled. "When you visit the Aether Foundation, you usually sleep in my bed with me."

"You're right," I gave in. The two of us walked a little ways away from the dock, entering the Pokémon center to get some region maps and items.

"What?!" I shouted. "My ride pager doesn't work here!"

"Well duh! It's an Alola-exclusive invention," he explained. "You're going to need to get a Pokémon who knows the move Fly in order to get around here."

"Oh, thankfully my Honchkrow knows it," I smiled with a sigh of relief. I threw my pokeball and let the black bird fly free, hopping onto its back. "Take us to Hearthome City!"

The bird flew us there at a relatively slow pace, but Gladion still clung on to me like when we were riding on Charizard. The bird let us down to an easy stop in front of the Pokémon center, where Gladion took my suitcase and insisted he would check us in while I got to explore the town.

"You!" A voice called, attracting my attention. An older man with a bushy white mustache stood behind me, an angry look on his face. "Are you (y/n), the first champion of Alola?"

"Yes," I responded, giving a small nod.

"I am professor Rowan," the man introduced himself. "You are the one who possesses Shaymin, correct?"

"Yes," I said again, clutching my bag a little tighter.

"I can arrange a boat so that you can take it back home for you," he offered. "You'll need to go to Canalave City in 3 hours. Then, a sailor will take you back to the Mystery Zone, where Shaymin usually lives."

"Sounds good," I said with a small smirk. Though, I felt something not sit right with me.
