Chapter nineteen

I close my eyes and begin to concentrate, but open my eyes again because of Lucy. "Wait." "Why?" I ask her. She looks at Serea, who looks at her. "Can you teleport us back to Solniana?" Lucy asks which makes us all look at Serea. "I can teleport you back, but I cannot do it." "Why? Maria asks her. "Teleporting to another planet uses a lot of power and I cannot use that much power at once." "Why not?" Maria asks her. "If I would do that, then I would be weaker for a moment and I cannot risk being weak." "And why not?" Maria asks her. "Because bad people would be able to hurt me and when I am wounded, Solniana is wounded." Serea answers. "Who are-" Maria starts, but Jason puts his hand on her mouth.

"So, then how do we get back?" He asks Serea. She looks at him and then at Lucy. "That is easy." She answers and then her eyes turn darker. Suddenly Lucy screams in pain which makes us look at her. A bright light appears and when it disappears, we see Garrett. "Lucy, are you alright?" He asks worried. Serea's eyes turn back white and she smiles. "I am sorry for hurting you, but it is the only way to get your mate here." She says and then disappears.

"Get me here? What's going on?" Garrett asks Lucy. "Uh... Well..." Lucy starts. "Lucy, you're frightening me. What's wrong?" He asks worried. "Let's go somewhere more private." She answers. "Follow me." She says and teleports away. He looks at her and then at us. "Don't worry, she's not dying." Jason says to him. "Just, follow her." James says calmly to which he nods and he teleports away.

"So, you want to be the mate of our little sister?" Jason asks while looking at Ryan and walking closer to him. "Yes, I do." He answers. "Why?" Jason asks him. "Because I love her." He answers which makes me smile. "Being the mate of the queen isn't easy, I hope you realise that." Dad says walking to him. "I do." "I just hope that you know that if you would ever hurt my little sister, that I would kill you slowly to make sure that you're suffering." James says to him angrily. "I figured you'd say that." Ryan answers while I just look angry at James. "That sounded very threatening, I love that." Rose says to James.

I look at Ryan and then back at my family. I change back to my normal form which makes the shield disappear. Rose changes back to her normal form and is quickly followed by dad and after a while Jason changes back too. Rose punches James' arm which makes him change back too and hold his arm while looking mad at her. "Let's go, I'm sure that they have a lot to do before we leave." Dad says and teleports away. James looks back at Ryan angry. "Let's go, James." Rose says while grabbing his hand and teleporting away with him.

Maria walks to us and looks at Ryan. "I'm happy that you're going to be happy." He looks confused at her. "Now that I've seen your house, I understand. You were in an orphanage when you were younger, but you didn't like it there. You were unhappy and you never understood why you had such a horrible life. Sometimes you even wanted it all to stop, to finally know what it feels to be happy. When you met Mirella, you immediately felt like you belonged with her. And now you have Serea's blessing and you'll be her mate. You'll finally be happy."

We look at her surprised. While Jason looks at her amazed. "How do you do that?" Maria looks at him. "I'm just very observant." "Come on, we're going." Jason says to her and changes back in his powerful form. Maria smiles to him and puts her arm around his. "Don't forget to close your eyes." Jason says to her to which she response by closing her eyes. He looks at me for a moment and teleports away afterwards.

"Ryan!" We hear the king say which makes us turn around. "They have approved, but that doesn't mean that we approve." "I don't care." He answers which makes them, but also me, look surprised at him. "What?" The king asks still surprised. "I said that I don't care. Now that I'm leaving, I don't have to listen to you." "But Ryan, why didn't you ever tell us that you were unhappy?" The brother of the king asks. "Why would I? It's not like you would care." "Ryan, how can you say that? We took care of you after your father disappeared." The mate of the brother of the king says to him. "Yeah because you felt guilty." "No, because your father was our friend. Besides, I've been searching him since the day he fled." The brother of the king says to him. "And you can stop that. He's probably dead anyway. He is dead to me." I look at him when he says that. "Ryan, he loves you." The mate of the brother of the king says to him. "If he really loves me, then he would have come back or at least try to contact me."

"Ryan, I understand why you're mad but you can't just leave everything behind." Jack says walking closer. "Tell me Jack, what do I have here that is worth something? I have no family, I hate my job, I hate my house, I just hate my life." "I don't understand it. Why didn't you tell me? Isn't that what friends are supposed to do?" "I want no charity. I want to live my own life." "So you just leave? And start a whole new life?" Jack asks him. "Yes. Like Maria said, I know that I belong with Ella. This is the first time that I feel like I'm finally making the right decision." He says looking at me.

"I hope you're right." Jack says, sounding sad. "I know that I'm right." Ryan answers. "I'm going to miss you." Jack says. "And I'll miss you, but I need to go." Ryan says to which Jack response by hugging him.

"When are you leaving?" Lauretta asks me. "I don't know, when Garrett teleports us away." I answer her. "Before you leave, I have one question." The brother of the king says to me. I look at him, but don't reply. "Why did you came here in the first place?" "My mother teleported me here." I answer him. "But why here? Why did she teleport you to another planet? Why didn't she just teleport you to another place on your planet?" He asks me. "I don't know." I answer him.

I look at Ryan. "Shall we go?" "Yes, let's go." He answers while he walks to me. I change in my powerful form to teleport, but just when I'm about to teleport, I feel something pull on my dress. I look at my dress and see a child looking at me while pulling my dress. "What are you doing?" I ask him. "You need to help my mommy!" He says to me. I look confused at him. "Noah!" A woman says and walks to him. I look at her when she tries to take the little boy away from me. He breaks free and looks me in the eyes. "Please! My mommy is dying!" He begs me. "I'm no healer." I answer him. He looks sad. "But she's going to die!" He yells while he starts to cry.

"Poor boy, no child should lose his mother." We look and see Serea staring at him. "Can you help her?" He asks still crying. "I can heal my people, animals and plants. I do not know if I can heal earthlings. I never did that." She answers. "Please try!" He begs her. She looks at him for a few minutes which confuses everyone. Well, except for me, I know what she's doing. She's trying to find out if he's telling the truth.

"Close your eyes and think of your mother." She says after a while. The boy closes his eyes and begins to smile when he thinks about his mother. Serea's eyes and hair become brighter white for a moment, then change back to normal. "You can open your eyes now." She says to the boy. He opens them and looks at her. "Did you do it? Is mommy alright?" He asks her. "I think she is." She says and looks next to the boy. A light appears and when it disappears, a woman stands next to the boy. "Mommy!" The boy yells happily and hugs the woman.

I look at Serea. "Why did you heal her? You always say to us that you should never heal anyone who is dying, because 'It's their time to go.'." She looks at me. "I am the one who decide who lives and who dies on Solniana. I cannot let a child grow up without a mother. I kept your mother alive for that same reason."

"Thank you so much." The mother of the boy says to Serea. She looks at her. "You are welcome." She answers. "Thanks!" The boy yells and runs to Serea with his arms wide open. He stops running when he runs right through her and looks at her confused. "I am sorry, but I am nothing more than a ghost." Serea says to him. He walks back to her, sad. "But I wanted to hug you." "I know, but even you would be able to I could not let you. It is against the rules." She says looking sad to him.

Suddenly she looks at the sky. "We need to hurry." She says looking at me. "What's wrong?" I ask her. "I think He knows that I am here and not on Solniana." "I'll teleport Ryan and me immediately to the others." I say to her. She nods in response and disappears.

"Who is 'He'?" Ryan asks me. "The supreme ruler of Monconos, the planet next to Solniana." I answer him. "Your enemy?" Jack asks. "Yes, if he comes here then he can attack Serea." "Why only here?" Laure asks. "He can't come to Solniana, just like Serea can't go to Monconos." I answer her and look at Ryan. "Let's go." He nods and I teleport us to the woods.
